Car Stereo Sub Woofers

When I listen to music, I like to imagine that the singer is right next to me with his team and instruments, giving me an exclusive performance. If you are like me, then you need to get a car stereo sub woofers. This is installed separately as it is not part of the stereo system that is in your car at the time of purchase.

A wide variety of sub woofers are currently available to suit different preferences in music. People who enjoy deep bass should acquire big sub woofers. However, one should ensure that the sub woofers do not take up too much space in their car as it compromises the quality of sound. The depth of one's pocket in terms of how much money one is willing to part with is another factor to keep in mind before settling on a particular car stereo sub woofer.

It is advisable to use amplifiers together with car stereo sub woofers because they empower the sub woofers. Certain precautions should be taken when using amplifiers especially if the RMS power of the amplifier is more than that of the sub woofer, as it may cause the woofer to blow. When using the amplifier with more than one channel, make sure that it can be bridged as this doubles the power of one channel.

Car stereo sub woofers and amplifiers can be purchased over the Internet and from dealers of electronic goods worldwide. Before buying, one should test the sensitivity and frequency response to ascertain that they are without fault. Placement of sub woofers depends on the space available, though it is common to put them in an enclosure trunk and place them in side panels or under the seats. Enjoy your music!

Basic Car Maintenance Tips

Your car might be ranked first or second among your most prized possessions. And with good reason- you paid good money for it. Here are some maintenance tips on how to keep your car in tiptop condition so you can avoid unnecessary breakdowns and expensive repairs.

"Regularly changing your car's engine oil and filter is one of the most important things you can do to keep your car running well. Over time, engine oil breaks down and your filter becomes clogged with contaminants.

"Wash your car regularly (at least once a week) and wax it once in a while to keep it shiny and free from corrosion. However, the most important thing to remember when washing your car is to use products that will be able to gently lift away dirt and grime without damaging the underlying surfaces or strip away existing wax or sealant protection.

"Always try to use genuine spare parts as replacements. Sure, generic spare parts are a lot cheaper but it's a better idea to stick to the more reliable originals.

"Take good care of your tires: check your tires' pressure regularly - at least once a month; if your tires are worn, have them re-treaded right away or better yet, replace them; improper alignment causes increased tire wear, and in worst cases, may throw your car into a skid especially on a wet road. Have the alignment checked.

"Have your car checked by a mechanic at least once a year -- and not just a quick visual inspection by one of the fast lube places. Have a competent mechanic inspect major components of your car such as brakes, suspension, etc. while having your tires rotated. This is important because many vehicle components (ball joints, for example) cannot be inspected visually.

As soon as you feel there is something wrong with your car like any kind of irregular noise or vibration while driving, have it checked soonest. You don't want a car that's unsafe to drive.

For complete information on how to maintain your car, it's a good idea to refer to your owner's manual or better yet, pay a visit to your local vehicle repair shop.

Top Causes of Car Accidents

Experts state that the major causes of car accidents are driver distractions. Dangerous distractions that can lead to an accident include cell phones and other gadgets that drivers use as they drive. Cell phones, laptops, electric razors, etc. causes drivers to take their eyes off the road for seconds at a time with the potential to cause a serious, if not deadly, accident. In response to this, some states in the US have banned the use of hand-held cell phones while people are driving. The alternative is to use a hands free ear bud that is lightweight and comfortable, and allows a driver to carry on a conversation without diversions.

Another dangerous distraction is when a driver who has been drinking and then attempts to drive. The effects of alcohol can and does raise havoc behind the while. Anyone with a blood alcohol level of .01 is considered unfit to drive. The effects of driving while intoxicated include drowsiness, loss of focus and the inability to judge distances and reaction times.

Rubbernecking and tailgating are other potentially dangerous habits that many practice while driving. Rubbernecking occurs when drivers slow down to look at another accident on the road or anything that looks unusual on the highway. When a driver slows a car down too quickly, the driver in the car behind often times doesn't have enough time to slow down or stop and runs into the back of the vehicle in the lead. Rear end collisions can lead to serious injuries. The same applies for tailgating in that a driver who is following a car too closely may not have enough distance to stop suddenly, and the potential for a serious accident is eminent.

A driver's behavior causes many accidents; still others are caused by mechanical failure or road conditions. There are technical solutions that are available to help with these problems and have contributed to a decline in the death rates caused by automobile accidents. They include proximity monitors that let a driver know how close they are to the vehicle ahead; sobriety detectors, that measure the amount of alcohol that a driver has consumed and drifting monitors that alert a driver when his or her car drifts too far to one side of the road or the other.

Car Games

Be it bumper to bumper traffic, or a ride to Grandma's house-- long car rides can do a number on any group of people, specifically families. The following is a list of some car games to consider playing with the whole gang!

The ABC Game is popular with a younger crowd, as it only requires knowledge of the alphabet. To play, each person in the car must try and complete the entire alphabet by identifying letters they see on license plates or billboards. When a letter is located, it is called out, and then eliminated. The first person to complete the entire alphabet wins.

A fun game that I especially enjoy is called "Word Justifying". One person in the car is the leader, and the others are the players. Each person thinks of a word. The players announce their words first, and then the leader announces his word at the end. The players then each take turns justifying why their word is most related to the leader's word. A winner is chosen, and the winner becomes the new leader.

When you are driving for a long period of time in the country or in other rural areas, it may be fun to play games involving the animals you see along the way. Assign points to each kind of animal. For instance, cows are worth two points, cats worth one, farm animals worth four or five, and so on. The first person in the car that reaches twenty is the winner.

Variations on twenty questions can always be fun, and occupy lots of time. Someone in the car chooses to be a person, place, or thing. Everyone else in the car can ask that person up to twenty 'yes or no' questions about it in the hopes of narrowing down their guesses enough to the point where they can figure it out! Whoever guesses correctly is the next person to be grilled.

Music games can be fun, and also test trivia knowledge in the car. Someone hums a part of a television show theme or score to a movie, and everyone else takes turns guessing which song it is. Whoever guesses correctly is next! For older or more enthusiastic players, try seeing who can recite all the lyrics to a song instead of guessing the title.

The Cow Game is another classic, and can be altered easily based on what's most fun. Ideally, the car is split into sides, and each side counts as many cows on their end as possible. Whenever a cemetery is passed, the side of the car it is on loses all their points and has to start over. Whoever has the most points by the end wins!

Antique Ohio Electric Car

Electrically operated automobiles are amongst the earliest vehicles, and are more energy efficient than all the conventional vehicles that use ICE (internal combustion engine) technology. Fortunately, for us the electric car doesnt produce any exhaust fumes, and causes minimal or no pollution even if it charges from most renewable forms of energy. Besides this, these green or hybrid cars are capable of reducing our dependence on traditional fuels, while helping to mitigate global warming by providing relief from the greenhouse effect.

Electric cars are among the earliest automobiles, more so since electric vehicles predate petroleum and diesel cars. Its believed that a Scottish businessman, Robert Anderson invented the first proto type electric coach somewhere around 1832-1839. However, it was the year 1835, that Professor Sibrandus Stratingh of Groningen, Netherlands, helped his assistant Christopher Becker design and build the first small electric car.

The antique Ohio electric car is a vintage car now. The Ohio Electric Car Company produced electric cars, which were mainly bought by rich customers during the late 1800s and early part of 1900s. Electric vehicles were also produced by Edison, Anthony, Bakers and others during the early 1900s and even out-sold the conventional vehicles for some time! But due to technological limitations, besides other factors, these vehicles were limited to a maximum speed of 32 km/hr.

However, in 1913, Cadillac introduced the electric starter car, the sales of electric cars experienced a down slide and soon antique Ohio electric cars became just that, antiques. Now, electric cars are more popular than they have ever been with the fear of global warming and the increasing cost of gas.

If I'm in a Car Wreck, How Can I Pay My Medical Bills?

Millions of automobile accidents happen each year. Each automobile accident of course involves unique circumstances and must be dealt with accordingly. The vast majority of automobile accidents in America today are caused by someone failing to stop and as a result rear-ending another driver.

In your typical run of the mill rear-end collision 90% of the time the person that rear-ended the vehicle will be held at fault. This usually involves a citation for following too close or for failure to control your vehicle.

In this scenario you can recover from the insurance of the driver that rear-ended your vehicle. This is sometimes a very daunting task and using a personal injury attorney can be very helpful. In the unfortunate and increasingly common event that the driver does not have insurance you have two methods of recovery available.

The first and best option to recover for the cost to repair your vehicle and for your medical expenses is to claim on your own uninsured motorist coverage. If you carry full coverage insurance it is very likely that you already have this coverage, if not it can usually be added for a nominal monthly fee.

In some jurisdictions there is also coverage referred to as PIP or Personal Injury Protection. Personal injury protection will compensate you for your medical expenses regardless of whether the other driver has insurance. Personal injury protection can also be used to pay any other expenses that might have occurred due to the accident, not just medical. In some jurisdictions there is what is called med pay, which pays a portion of your medical expenses directly to your medical providers.

If all insurance related options are exhausted, then you may try to collect from the driver individually by filing a lawsuit. If you have a good cause of action you will typically win a lawsuit and receive a judgment against the driver. However, if the driver was not carrying insurance or could not afford to carry insurance then you will be hard pressed to collect anything from them.

Important Car Theft Prevention

Most people will have experienced or know someone who has experienced some sort of car theft, whether it be a car break-in resulting in loss of expensive items or the car itself being stolen. All car owners must do all they can to help secure their cars so that it is either very difficult for a thief to break into a car or so your security measures act as a deterrent to the thief from even attempting to steal from your car. Vehicle crime currently stands at around 1.7 million per year, which the authorities claim is down from previous years. The biggest motivation for a person to do all they can to secure their vehicle is that most people use their car every day and really cannot do without it, also they are expensive things to retrieve and repair if they have been damaged in a crime related incident. In this article you will find many hints and tips which should be adhered to by all drivers in order to secure your vehicle and possessions.

The first thing to do is keep all valuables such as satellite navigation systems, loose change, CD radio fascias, mobile phones and laptops out of view, either underneath covers, underneath seats or in a looked boot, if people can't see anything of real value in the car, chances are they will not have a reason to break into your car. Thieves are attracted to these kinds of items because they are small so easy to steal and easy to sell on. Whatever you do don't make it easy for the average thief to enter your car, make sure all doors are securely locked, the boot is locked and that all windows are fully close, even the slightest gap could enable a person to insert an instrument and open your window.

Most modern cars come with an alarm and immobiliser fitted as standard, if your car does not have these features, it could be worthwhile investing in them. An alarm can act as a great deterrent and attract unwanted attention towards the thief. An immobiliser basically stops the car from starting its engine unless the correct code is entered. Make sure you have a sticker which you can place on the window which highlights the safety features installed on your car, this acts as a great deterrent. Having these safety features can have other benefits such as brining down the price of your insurance because there is a less likelihood of your car being broken into. There are also further simple measures you can take such as purchasing a steering wheel lock and wheel locking nuts to stop your expensive alloy wheels from being stolen.

The future looks very bright for car security measures, already there are cars being developed which incorporate biometric technology such as finger print recognition and iris recognition as an anti-theft measure, basically it works by only letting verified drivers start the car. Also there is technology already in circulation which lets you know via SMS text messaging if your car is being broken into. There is no doubt that these technologies and more will be introduced into the mass market in order to stamp out crime waves of car thefts.

Car Wraps - The Future Of Advertising

There are many companies using a new visual marketing strategy that requires no billboard space or conventional poster advertisements. Instead they are turning to a variety of modes of transportation to carry their ads and reach a greater market than could ever be possible with stationary advertising. Think of it as mobile marketing or advertising on wheels. Mobile advertising is certainly nothing new. We see it on cabs and mass transit busing every day but one of the latest innovations in traveling ads is the car wrap.

These not only look unique but they also capture attention with their vibrant colors and bold graphics, just perfect for getting the word out there. Possibly one of the most familiar uses of the car wrap can be found in the sports car racing industry. Sponsors pay to have the bright and colorful wraps and put on the race cars, and with the growing popularity of the sport, they get nation wide coverage.

Any car will work with car wraps and if you should need your own advertising, what better way to promote your business as you drive around. Your car will even be working for you while its parked. So instead of spending all of your advertising dollars on conventional marketing, why not go mobile? Advanced technology and improved graphics have propelled the demand for vinyl car graphics to an all time high. By doing it yourself, you can use anything from basic do it yourself vinyl stickers and decals, to the complete wrap and your four wheels becomes your very own colorful billboard ready get the attention of your target market.

Successful mobile advertising isnt only limited to the vehicle wrap which covers the entire vehicle, but advertisers can choose to use window graphics as well. Car window graphics can be applied by the same companies that do the car wraps. With the use of perforated vinyl window graphics, you can get vinyl letters or graphics applied to your windows for a fraction of the cost of a complete wrap.

Not only do they look very unique but they are real attention getters, when it comes to getting the word out about your company. Your everyday vehicle can use a car wrap and be used to catch the eye of potential customers and if you have a limited advertising budget it can definitely be an option in helping you reach a larger market.

Car Crash

There are an estimated 6 million road accidents in the US each year. About half of this number - 3 million people - are injured in these accidents. The injuries may range from minor scrapes to permanent disabilities. The number of mortal casualties in car crashes each year is estimated to be well over 40,000.

Car crashes are caused due to a number of reasons. Disobedience of traffic safety rules are the prime cause. Jumping signals, reckless driving and speeding are among the major causes of car crashes. Car crashes due to drunken and drugged driving are becoming an issue of great concern throughout the world. Use of mobile phones while driving diverts the attention of the driver and may cause an accident. Laws have been passed in several states forbidding drinking and the use of cell phones during driving.

Car crashes have been categorized according to the part that collides. They are head-on collisions, rollovers, side collisions, rear end collisions, level crossing collisions, etc. Head-on collisions are the most lethal and are almost always fatal to the people in the front seats. Head-on collisions lead to a shattering of the front glass which may cause more serious injuries. A rollover or ""turning turtle"" occurs when a car at a high speed collides with something. Such accidents may cause permanent paralysis of the victims, if not death.

The seriousness of car accidents has prompted vehicle manufacturers to devise and use new safety measures in their cars. Proximity meters are used in some recent cars. These meters can detect the safe distance from a vehicle ahead of it and can automatically change the acceleration of the vehicle to maintain that distance. Another invention is the built-in breathalyzer or the sobriety meter which locks the car if it detects over 10% of alcohol in the breath of the driver. There are other simple measures such as automatically inflating air cushions and seatbelts.

There is always some legislation involved with a car crash. The severity of the legislation depends on the impact of the crash. People involved in a car crash are supposed to stall their vehicle and inform the police immediately. The party responsible for the crash may have to compensate the injured victim. Suits are filed if the case is too serious; otherwise a roadside settlement may be done with the traffic policeman as the intermediary.

Several measures are being adopted to prevent car crashes. Efforts are on to make advanced driving classes compulsory. Hoardings are put up at prominent places and gruesome car accident clips are shown on television to make people wary of rash driving. Severe penalties are imposed on people indulging in driving when drunk or under the influence of drugs. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is constantly modifying these and other rules to reduce the number of car crashes in the country.

Baby Car Seats

Your baby undoubtedly deserves nothing more than the most comfortable and safest car seats, but with the hundreds of choices that all seem to offer different features, how do you know which is best? Use this guide to help you decide.

The features you should look for in a car seat should change as your baby grows. You typically start with a rear-facing seat for an infant, and then progress to a forward-facing child seat for toddlers, and then to a booster seat for bigger children. Let us discuss what you should look for in each type.

Rear-facing seats are designed for infants under twelve months. Look for a seat that is big enough to support the babys head, neck, and spine. If your babys head goes higher than the top part of the seat, get a bigger size or graduate to a car seat designed for toddlers.

Choose a rear-facing seat with sturdy harnesses the more support, the better. Five-point harness straps support the shoulders, hips, and the crotch, but can be quite restricting. There are three-point versions available, which adequately secure the babys shoulders and crotch. You may have to pay a few extra dollars for added features such as detachable bases that can be secured to your car, or adjustable bases, but these add-ons are more than worth it. Some models even have convertible seats, which are great if you have a big or a fast-growing baby.

Forward-facing car seats are needed when your baby is already a year old or older. Remember to install this seat on your back seat, not your front seat, because your airbags can injure your child or cause him or her to suffocate in the event of a collision.

Booster seats are for children ages four to six. These seats are designed much like adult car seats, with a seatbelt that supports both the rib cage and the hips. Fasten and adjust the belt just like you would your own seatbelt the belt should go over the hips (not the tummy), and the strap should support the shoulder (not the neck).

The Long Process of Car Accidents

If you see the numbers on how many car accidents occur every year, you might want to sell your car and get a bike. Is our inability to follow the rules what causes that huge number of car accidents every year and the number seem to increase year by year. I don't like to be the bearer of bad news but chances are that you or a close relative will be involved in a car accident.

Insurance is mandatory in almost the whole country, that is good, but dealing with an insurance company is not as funny Jerry Seinfeld and will for sure be a very long process and the best you can do is to have a legal professional giving you a hand in the process. Filing an accident insurance claim can be a complicated process.

The main problem is that your insurance will fight for every single dime; they might even ignore your claim (that is why they have a lot of money!). They will minimize you claim, they will delay as possible and if you are not stressed enough after being involved in a car accident, be sure you will be after dealing with the insurance company.

If you don't have enough problems this far, chances are that the accident resulted in personal injuries and you should know that there are many lawyers specialized in this type of cases and they can provide the assistance you need. If the accidents has caused by the negligence or deliberate actions of another, you have a case, but finding a real legal professional turn to be another complication.

Yes, there are many lawyers, and many will claim to be experienced personal injury or car accident lawyers, but you should trust lawyers that can demonstrate a solid background in this type of cases since personal injury or car accidents claims use to be complex cases and overall, long processes.

How To Increase The Resale Value Of Your Car

Whether you are planning to sell your car in the near future, have purchased it for investment purposes or simply want to protect your investment, increasing the resale value of your car is never a bad idea. Many people are not aware, but there are several ways to maintain your car in such a way that it will prove to be more valuable than its peers.

Keep it clean. Everyone likes a clean car and will consider this factor heavily when deciding to purchase a new ride. Even if you dont intend to sell it in the near future, you should keep the car clean for yourself and your passengers. Regular vacuuming, upholstery cleaning and shampooing of the floor are the best ways to maintain your cars interior.

Maintain your car according to the manufacturers guidelines and schedule. This means regular inspections, oil changes and keeping up with any other repairs that need to be done. Keeping your car operating properly will make you feel safe while operating it and will also protect your investment in the years to come.

If its broke, fix it. As with most cars, repairs are inevitable and no matter how hard you try, there will come a day that something needs fixed. Its best to avoid putting off any repairs and just go ahead and have them done immediately. Anything left uncorrected can lead to a much larger, and more expensive, problem in the future.

Annual Check-ups! A yearly visit to the doctor isnt just for individuals, but for cars too. Ok, so maybe a repair shop isnt the same thing as a doctors office, but you get the idea. Annual inspections of your cars performance is crucial to its overall health. Most states require that an individual have their car inspected annually, so do it for safety and because its the law.

Walking. Believe it or not, walking is good for your car. When you walk, that is. When you drive to the grocery store, take a quick visual scan of the parking lot. Where are most of the cars located? Near the entrance, right? If you park in the less crowded area and are willing to walk a little farther to get inside the store, you may save your car from being dented and dinged by runaway shopping carts, car doors and other mishaps that often occur in crowded parking areas.

Save your receipts. If you have paperwork relating to the car or parts warranty, keep it in a safe place. In addition, any recall information and/or repair work that you have had done will be beneficial to future buyers and will also reassure them of your complete honesty if you are willing to go the extra mile and provide the paperwork.

In addition to the aforementioned ways of increasing your cars value, you should also repair any rust spots or paint chips, interior defects, loose knobs or other cosmetic problems that may affect the cars value. If you do all of these things, your car should be a major contender when it comes time to sell. Until then, you will have the pleasure of enjoying a well-maintained automobile.

Getting Your Car Ready For the Summer

Most people usually only think about the weather and their car together in one sentence unless the winter months are approaching. However, there are things you'll need to do for your car's health so to speak in the hot weather, too. Getting your car ready for summer involves taking some time to park your car under the shade tree and have a good look at some parts.

One important thing to remember is your tires. First of all, take off the snow tires if you have them on. They are great for snow, but they will wear out quick on dry pavement and you'll have to buy more for the next winter. The best thing to do here is to have your snow tires on one set of wheels and a set for the rest of the year on another set of wheels. Having them this way will enable you to be able to perform the changeover instead of paying a tire shop to do it. As always, make sure tire pressure is correct at all times. Keep in mind that because of the heat of summer, an over inflated tire can explode, being that air is a gas and gases expand in high temperatures.

The oil in your car responds to temperature and their changes greatly. When oil is cold, it thickens up. When it gets too hot it gets thinner. If an oil gets too thin, it doesn't properly lube vital parts, the best thing to do here in getting your car ready for summer is to choose a multi-viscous oil that changes with the temperature on it's own. Read your owner's manual for what kind is recommended.

Summer brings with the long road trips to the beach or wherever you decide to vacation at. Take your car and have all the belts and hoses inspected. The last thing you want spoiling your trip is car trouble. Another important part of getting your car ready for summer and vacations is to check the battery. Make sure there isn't corrosion around the posts and if you have had it in your car for three years or more, you need to replace it. One other thing! Always carry jumper cables with you. You hopefully won't need them, but the lady at the supermarket who left her lights on will need them!

The first thing people associate with car problems and summer is overheating. Check the antifreeze and water levels in your car and make sure they are up to par. Without enough water to cool your engine, the likelihood of being stranded due to overheating is very possible. Getting your car ready for summer is what you need to take time and do to avoid being stranded in the heat. The time that it takes and the money it may cost will be much better than having a heat stroke on the side of the road somewhere! Then think of what that is going to cost you in doctor's fees!

Winter Car Maintenance

Careful attention to your winter car maintenance can help to ensure that your vehicle does what you want it to, when you want it to, whatever freezing temperatures the winter brings or stormy weather conditions. A well-maintained car is a lot less likely to let you down and leave you in the grip of a cold and icy emergency or breakdown.

Tyres

A regular spot of winter car maintenance should take in the tyres, not only for their depth of tread, but just as importantly, their correct pressure. Too low, and they'll wear out more quickly and need the engine to consume more fuel; too high and you could lose the grip that they give on icy roads.

Battery

Obviously, the battery is critical to getting you started, yet an old and weakened battery can lose as much as one third of its power in icy conditions, leaving you in danger of being unable to start the car or taking much longer to do so.

Lubrication

As the cold weather persists it could well be worth considering changing the engine oil to one with a lower than normal viscosity. Such "thinner" oil will help the car start more easily but can also help to reduce friction and wear by getting more quickly to the areas of the engine that need the lubrication.

Wipers

Snow, rain, ice and general dirt from the road can soon wear down the rubber of the wiper blades, so it's worth checking whether they still do a good job. Clear visibility through the window is even more important in hazardous road conditions.

Staying warm

It's not only the occupants who will feel the chill on icy mornings. A cold engine should be allowed to warm up on idle for a minute or two before pulling away, so that the oil has had a chance to reach those parts of the engine where it's most needed.

For warmth on the inside, you and your passengers will appreciate a heating system that's working properly. This is not only for the comfort of passengers, of course, since an effective heater and defroster is important for keeping the windows free from misting up and icing over again, thus ensuring that good visibility is maintained at all times.

Anti-freeze

Since it's winter time it probably shouldn't need saying, but it's surprising how many people fail to check whether the anti-freeze is at the correct concentration. It's unlikely these days that the engine will become frozen solid, but the correct amount of anti-freeze actually helps to keep the engine running at the correct temperature and helps to protect the engine when it needs to be started from an especially icy start.

Winter car maintenance

As you can see, routine winter car maintenance needn't be time consuming or expensive. It doesn't require a major overhaul, but rather, regular attention to a handful of otherwise minor details. A little attention could make the world of difference between a vehicle that's safe to drive in all that the winter might throw at us, and one that's not.

These rates only apply when employers reimburse employees for the business travel in company cars or when they require employees to repay the fuel costs when they use the company car for private use.

10. Are there any tax free benefits associated with a company car?

The tax free benefits you enjoy when using a company car include:

  • There is no tax on pool cars. This means that the car is only used occasionally by employees for business reasons and none of them take the car home with them at night.
  • If an employee earns less than 8500 per year, there is no company car tax.
  • Vans can be used for private use when the fuel costs do not exceed 500.

Catholic Charity Car Donations

Car donation is a noble gesture since it can make a difference in someones life. Most Catholic charity houses depend solely on donations. Many people donate money or clothes to charities but donating a car is something that is rapidly picking up. Donating a car allows you to get rid of an old car-hassle free and can also provide certain savings on your tax forms.

Car donations made to some Catholic charities are tax deductible. You can claim the cars fair market value if the car is worth less than $500 or if it is in good working condition. You can claim deduction equal to the actual sale price of the car is the car is worth more than $500. The charity house should be a qualified, 501(c)3 IRS registered charity since only such programs are eligible for tax deductions. Information about such charity programs can be obtained from the IRS website or in the Publication 78 that is available at most public libraries.

Determine the value of the car meant for donation. This can be done by checking the blue book value. Take the condition of the car into consideration while determining its value. Most charity organizations take donated cars for free, but there are some which charge certain fees. Make sure you have the title for the car.

These days, Catholic charity car donation has become very easy with online donation forms, easier processing and special services from the charity house like vehicle pick-up and towing. The forms can be filled online and all correspondence can be made through phone or e-mail. Once the car is taken, you would receive a receipt, a letter about the donation and a form 8283 from the IRS for Noncash Charitable Contributions.

Car charity organizations can be located online over the Internet or they can also be found in the yellow pages or through advertisements.

Eclipse Car Audio

Many drivers love listening to music as they drive their cars and to this effect, numerous companies have come up with new technology, trying to meet the required standards of audio. On top of the list is Eclipse car audio, a branch company of Fujitsu-Ten. Their products are efficient, of super quality and are available in a wide range of items that you can choose from.

Among the items available in Eclipse car audio is one that lets you have control over the quality of the sound that your car speakers produce. This it does by delaying the music from the different speakers and then releasing it simultaneously such that you have the full sound reaching you. At the same time you are able to regulate the speakers' power thus you get to receive a sharper and clearer sound.

Another feature of the Eclipse car audio that you can't afford to miss is the digital street map that is internally installed. It is a valuable tool to make use of when you are traveling wherever. In addition the Eclipse car audio has an Eclipse Security Network that improves your car music security. In case your car stereo is stolen, it refuses to work until you notify the Eclipse car audio to get it working again. I guess it is also a relief to know that Eclipse audio will replace your car stereo for free if by any chance it gets stolen. Why shop anywhere else for your car stereo requirements?

Car Fuses and Fuse Holders

In most electronics in the vehicles that we drive today has fuses of some size. There are fuses that are in the fuse panel that can either take a glass fuses or blade fuses. These can range from .5 amps up to 30 amps. These run all the electronics in the cars panel like the lights in the dash and things like that. The problem comes from when you have to figure out which one is blown. The easiest way to do this is with a test light. This will tell you which one is blown with out having to take out every one of them. There are certain cars that take different fuses like the European cars but those fuses are not very popular.

Then there are other types of fuses that are used by people that install car audio. In this profession they use one of three different types of fuses and fuse holders. There is the ANL fuses and the ANL fuse holders. These look like big Blade fuses. You can find them from the size of 100 amps to 300 amps for car amplifiers. They are used to keep things from overloading and catching the car on fire. If a fuse blows then you will have to get it checked out. Do not just replace with a bigger fuse. This will be a bad thing to do since it can cause a fire or burn up the electronics in your car. Also there are the AGU fuses that range in sizes from 30 amps to 80 amps. These are popular for some of the small to medium systems. They look like a big glass fuse and they have there own types of fuse holders also. The last type of fuses they use are the Maxi fuses. These are also available in sizes of 30-80 amps.

So as you can see there are a lot of different types and sizes of fuses and fuse holders.

If you would like more information on fuse holders try my site. And I also have a page on car fuses.

7 Common Causes of Car Tyre Wear

Check car tyres regularly for any signs of wear. This is important as they are the only point of contact between a car and the road. Any deterioration of the tread or damage to the sidewalls may be risking an accident.

The basic legal requirements for car tyres are:

a) Tread Depth must be a minimum of 1.6mm. This applies to the entire circumference of the tyre. A bald patch on a tyre, where the tread depth is below the minimum requirement, is against the law. Check a tyre after a skid or emergency braking as this is when bald patches can occur.

b) Tyres must be inflated to the correct pressure. Consult the vehicle manufacturer's handbook to find the recommended pressure. Not only is this a legal requirement, it improves the vehicle's handling and reduces fuel consumption.

c) All four car tyres must be compatible and in good condition. If a car tyre needs replacing it will need to be in the same condition as the others otherwise all four will need to be changed.

Factors that can affect the rate of car tyre wear include:

1. Make of Car Tyres

Every car tyre is designed differently to meet specific criteria. Long life tyres are made from a harder rubber compound. This can increase the noise when driving. A softer tyre compound will be quieter but will wear out faster. A car tyre specialist such as Merityre can offer advice on the different types of car tyre.

2. Position of Car Tyre

Front tyres wear out faster than back tyres, especially if the car is front wheel drive. The extra wear is caused by the movement through steering. On a four wheel drive vehicle the front car tyres should exceed 20,000 miles. This is half the expected life of the back tyres.

3. Weight of Vehicle

The heavier the vehicle the faster the car tyres wear.

4. Tyre Pressure

A car tyre that is inflated below its recommended pressure will wear faster because of its higher operating temperature and the extra flexing of the rubber. Over inflation can also increase wear due to the decreased size of the contact area between the tyre and the road.

5. Speed

Driving at high speeds increases the car tyre temperature and accelerates the wear.

6. Car Tyre Alignment

Incorrect alignment of car tyres causes uneven and increased wear.

7. Driving Style

Aggressive cornering, accelerating and braking excessively are all causes of car tyre wear.

One factor that is unavoidable is time. Tyres deteriorate naturally over time due to the effects of the weather. Vehicles kept outside will degrade faster than those kept in a garage. Cracking due to sunlight exposure usually becomes evident on car tyres that are five years or older. When this happens, as with any signs of wear, replace the car tyre immediately.

Car Travel With Kids

It's that time of year, with Christmas and the New Year and the never ending school holidays to contend with, many a family will pack up their car and set off on a road trip.

Many people visiting family and friends over the festive season and the rest looking for some summer fun, or simply an outlet for the kids to burn off some energy.

Either way, you will notice they highways are busy and the petrol stations are crowded.

So, what are the best tips for getting to your destination in a safe and happy state?

There a few things to consider when travelling by car with kids. First things first, meet all the necessities.

Plan your trip, do you need to stop along the way, if so what times best suit your kids needs. For instance, are you going to be travelling all day, if so stop around lunch time? Never try and keep going pushing it that little bit further, either way you will still need to stop and it is going to be far more beneficial for everyone to stop as planned.

Carry plenty of snacks in the car, including drinks. It's important to keep the kids fluids up. Snacks will not only keep them from being hungry (when there are no shops around) but it will also act as a distraction, breaking up the trip.

Once you have considered and met all your kid's needs, it's time to think about entertainment. I mean it is a holiday isn't it!

Why start your holiday only when you get to your destination?

There are all sorts of car games for kids, from bingo cards, to I spy, number plate games. And why not go to your local shops and buy some colouring and activity books, pack them together with a small pencil case and you have hours of entertainment.

There are also so many gadgets for kids too, such as portable DVD players, MP3 players and Nintendo DS. So regardless of what your kids prefer, movies, music, audio stories, or games, there is something here for everyone.

So regardless of whether you have lots of money to spend or are looking for free alternatives there are plenty of activities or games for car travel with kids.

So finally, remember, your holiday starts the minute you leave your front door. Don't make the drive an exercise that everyone dreads. Look forward to it, focus on the positives, and you will find that everyone will feel the same way.

Auto Theft and Protecting Your Car

In the ever decreasing economy, the number of car thefts and other crimes is beginning to rise on a gradual basis but rise nonetheless. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released a report not too long ago detailing when cars are most likely to be stolen and what days your car is least likely to be stolen. With the holiday season rapidly approaching, people need to double check what is inside their car and whether or not their car is locked before they walk away from it in a large parking lot.

Thieves are more prone to target cars in store parking lots that have visible packages inside them that appear to be holiday gifts. Why? Because more than likely those packages contain expensive gifts such as IPODs, MP3 players, CD players, DVD players, cell phones, digital cameras, laptops and video game systems. The thieves will not only get away with a new vehicle that they can strip and sell parts to chop shops but they now have expensive items they can keep for themselves or turn around and sell on the street.

Always, always make sure your car is locked and any packages inside are hidden from view. Place them in the trunk or if the trunk is full, make sure they cannot be seen by the naked eye if they are inside the car. The report released recently by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states that your car is least likely to be stolen on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

The report also warns that thieves do not take a holiday so do not let your guard down on those days. Even though the stats show that those three days are the lightest in stolen vehicle volume, it can still happen. Always lock your car doors; even if you are just running into the local supermarket to grab a gallon milk or a carton of ice cream. Those few minutes can change your life. You could come outside and find that your car is gone.

Preventing auto theft can be done and it can't be done. You can prevent auto theft by locking your doors, closing your windows, having a security system on the car, and not keeping expensive items in the car when you are not in it. If you have a GPS system or an IPOD, do not leave them on the seat, the dashboard, or on a console for everyone walking by the vehicle to see plain as day. Lock them in the glove box or carry them with you. Also, make sure your car has a car alarm system. This can alert people in the area to any attempted thefts.

In the sense that car thefts cannot be prevented; you can only do so much. If you keep expensive items out of sight, have a car alarm, and lock your doors, if thieves want to steal your car they will. It's plain and simple; if they need a car, they will find a way to steal one, even if it is locked and the windows are closed tight.

Car Care Products

There are hundreds of car-care and auto-detailing products in the market today but what do you really need and what can you do without? Read on and decide for yourself.

When used properly, car waxes can take the dullness off your cars exterior paint and make it look brand new. Experts recommend that you wax at least two times a year or more if you have an older car. Doing this prevents dirt build up and keeps your car looking new even after years of use.

Do not confuse car polish with a car wax these are two very different chemicals, and each one can make very important contributions to your cars upkeep. Car polish can deep clean your cars finish with its mild abrasive properties. A good car polish has the ability to minimize paint defects by deflecting light. Be careful about buying car polishes, though; because there are cheap varieties those leave residues, causing your car paint to become dull. Invest in car polish that is easy to wipe off and buff.

There are very useful Teflon-based additives available in the market today that help keep engine oil in tiptop shape, even if you forget to change it for a long period of time. These additives are proven to extend engine life, and experts recommend that car owners use them every 50,000 miles.

It is not enough to just keep your cars exterior clean more importantly, the interior should be cleansed and maintained, too. Take your car for a yearly full detailing or buy the right products and scrub her clean yourself. Proper shampooing cleans out all of the dirt that has built up over time on your dashboard, sidings, ceiling, and seats. Be careful not to overdo it, though, because too much scrubbing can cause leather or fabric colors to fade.

Pedal Car and Soapbox Racing

If you're looking to introduce your child to a world of excitement, consider pedal car or soapbox racing. Both involve the construction of a small car, powered either by pedals or by gravity. If you choose pedal car racing, your child will pedal the car down the raceway. If you choose soapbox racing, the car will coast down the track.

Soapbox cars are completely unpowered, relying on aerodynamics to propel them down the course using gravity. Modern cars can reach speeds of over 30 miles per hour as they speed down the hill. With soapbox cars, one of the main design considerations is that the car is lightweight with a streamlined design.

Pedal cars have a set of pedals for your child to propel the car. These are typically raced by younger racers, and do not reach the same speeds as soapbox cars. Pedal car tracks do not typically involve the steep hills used to start a soapbox derby race. In both types of races, your child is responsible for steering the car down the course. If you are considering involving your child in soap box derbies, consider a pedal car to teach your young child the skills for soapbox racing. Both pedal car and soapbox racing can be great to prepare your child for other types of racing in the future.

Many children have a lot of fun racing their miniature car. Many cars are designed with sleek lines and detailed paint jobs, reminiscent of 1950's and 1960's hot rods and race cars. This streamlined styling can help the car be as fast as possible, but it is also a great stylistic choice. You can paint your car in any color, although classic candy or pearl colors remain the most popular. Bright primary colors have long been a favorite for pedal car and soapbox racing.

If you've ever dreamed of owning your own custom race car, give your child a chance by building a car or soapbox racing. You can purchase them pre-built, or buy a kit for the fun of doing it yourself. Although there are some specifications for the design of the car, many aspects are left open to you, making the cars as varied as the people who design and build them. You can even involve your children in the building process; this can be a great parent-child bonding experience.

The Soap Box Derby youth racing program has been run in the United States since 1934. Pedal car racing began soon after, at the height of pedal car popularity. Both versions were especially popular during the 1950's and 1960's. Today, car and soapbox racing competitions are conducted in many local communities, both in the United States and internationally. This can be a fun adventure for many young children, either on their own or as the precursor for other forms of racing. Each year, national championships are also conducted for the local winners. Pedal car racing or soap box derbies can be a great way to introduce your child to the world of racing.

Classic Pedal Cars specializes in premium quality pedal cars. All our pedal cars are stamped steel, not plastic and will last for years. Racer Pedal Cars are a favorite!

Alternative Fuel Car is a Watered Powered Car

Alternative fuel car is a concept that more and more people like the thought of especially if he alternative fuel or I should say the secondary fuel is water. Water powered cars are certainly not a new concept you just have to look back in history to see that some of the first cars were in fact steam cars.

The water powered cars of today though are a far cry from their ancestors. The first cars that were made of steam were in fact quite slow compared to today's standard and they would take a little while to get the steam built up enough before they could be driven.

In those days fortunately people didn't want to drive too far as they would only go for about 50 miles before they would need a stop to be refilled up. That would never do for the amount of miles that we all like to drive today.

The alternative fuel cars that are available for us to use when water is the second fuel are extremely economic to run and allow many more miles than even a tank on petrol or disel can currently give.

This enhanced performance is due to the fact that the hydrogen in the water is able to split the cars main fuel, be it gas or diesel into much smaller molecules which allows for more efficient fuel burning.

So rather than waste 75% of your fuel through the exhaust pipe as waste you can actually burn it leaving only water vapour as waste emissions and a lot more money in your pocket.

To find out what other benefits that come along with converting your car to a water hybrid visit my hub page http://hubpages.com/hub/BEAT-CRAZY-GAS-PRICES today.

Cheap Old Cars For Sale - Government Seized Car Auctions

If you are on a tight budget you might want to consider buying cheap old cars for sale, either online or from used car dealers. There are also many old cars being sold through auction, which is one of the best ways in getting cars at a greatly reduced price. Most online car auctions will feature both old and later models, and you expect that most bidders will aggressively contest for the later models driving the price high.

The good news however, most old cars will be sold at a very cheap price to speed up their disposal.

What you must need to remember though is to make sure that parts are still available in the market for replacement and maintenance purposes. This is to ensure that you will be able to enjoy your car and improve its appearance as well as its performance, especially if you know something about mechanics.

Take the time to inspect in detail all the aspect of the car that you are interested in, and never do it in a hurry. Test drive to get a feel of the car performs, and if you're not keen in car engines and all its jargon, it would be best to bring along someone who has some knowledge to help you in your inspection.

You can buy cheap old cars either directly from owners, car dealers or auction houses. The choice is yours, although the pertinent details remain the same. Make sure that registration papers are complete as well as safety standards and other documents included in the purchasing of vehicles.

Government seized car auctions is one good way to buy used cheap cars. Not many people know you can buy cars from the government and this helps to keep the bidding price low. Since the cars need money to be maintained and stored, the government agencies are more than willing to sell these seized cars at cheap prices.

You can often find used seized cars that are still brand new, less than a year old being sold for more than 90% off the retail market value.

If you are looking to buy cheap seized cars from government auto auctions, check out gov auctions. Check out my Gov Auctions review and learn how to buy seized cars at 90% off retail prices.

A Review of Car HID Lights

Some drivers are not satisfied with the head lights of their car because they are not bright enough. Don't worry. Let me show you another way to replace them with xenon lighting products. Maybe it is difficult for you to buy them on the market for some vehicle manufacturers don't even provide them. It doesn't matter. Now I introduce you Car HID Lights, one of the biggest xenon lighting providers online, which can offer you xenon kits and H.I.D lighting products with various sizes and colors.

What are xenon lighting and HID kits? Maybe you are not familiar with them. It is called Xenon because of the gas name used inside the bulb. Xenon is an odorless, colorless gas which can provide electrical current to emit three times more white light then the standard halogen bulb. Xenon bulbs emit a longer and wider range light with only 40% less electrical current. They also emit a whiter and more luminous color which is more natural to the human eye. The color emulates what the sun emits, which allows for better visibility during the night, raining days and snowing days etc.

Car HID Lights includes almost every kinds of car models online. So you can simply select the collect xenon lights and set them up for your vehicle based on the model information. Each model contains a wide range of color temperatures (e.g. 4300K, 6000K, 8000K, 10,000K, 12,000K and 30,000K) which can meet your personalized needs. The color temperatures mentioned above simply reflect the color output of the bulbs instead of brightness.

So if you want to get quality xenon lighting products and make a conversion upgrade for the head lights of your car, just go and order them.

Claiming For a Stolen Car

What do I do when my car is stolen?

1.Your first step is a toss-up between contacting the police or your insurance company with the police a marginal front runner as the insurance company will need a reference number from the police report anyway. This applies even if you do not have comprehensive insurance.

2.Once you have notified your insurer, they will drive the proceedings (not in your car unfortunately). But you will need to supply them with the correct documentation.

3.You will need to give your insurer and the police the following information in order to process the claim.

Proof of ownership of the vehicle, i.e., your vehicle's registration and license details.
Your personal details, including copies of your license, ID, etc.

Description of the car, including identifying characteristics, e.g., two cases of whiskey lying on the back seat, a stuffed Garfield hanging from the rear view mirror and a missing back bumper. You should also mention any special accessories in the car and you will need to prove recent upgrades, i.e., anything that potentially added value to your car but hadn't been communicated yet to your insurer, e.g., "I was on my way home from installing a new system to inform you of the fact."

Contents of the vehicle. This is not the time to get anxious about the safety of the cannabis under the spare tire.

Description of the circumstances under which the car was stolen, including details of where it was parked and whether security features were enabled.

Location of any keys to the vehicle before and after the theft. Location of spare keys.

The names and details of everyone who had access to the vehicle; your daughter's long-haired boyfriend?

Insurance policy number.

Finance or leasing details and account numbers.
Your banking details.

Details of whether you are entitled to a courtesy car.

It cannot be stressed enough that you should make detailed notes of all correspondence, verbal and written, between you and your insurer as well as outside parties. Get the name of every person you speak to and make a note of their contact details and the time you spoke to them. If things get ugly, you will have a record for the Insurance Ombudsman.

You must make your claim as soon as possible.

If you're claiming for a stolen car right now, you're probably also kicking yourself for not having installed a gear lock or immobiliser, having left the garage door open last night, poo-poo'd vehicle tracking devices at last weekend's dinner party when that pompous twit from next door started on his hobby horse, his 4X4 mechanical stallion.

Now that you've taken a shocked and disbelieving re-look at your insurance policy, you realise that there are quite a few terms and conditions (also known as fine print) that you didn't take much notice of when you signed the documents.

Yes, it is too late for now, but not for next time.

When claiming for a stolen vehicle, your insurance policy is a blueprint of the terms and conditions with regard to payment for/ replacement of your vehicle. Let's look at two common scenarios where you may think you are insured but have conveniently forgotten the more detailed terms and conditions of your policy and the commitment(s) you made to secure your vehicle when you took out the policy. If you're having difficulty claiming for a stolen vehicle, it may be because you didn't realise how watertight is the legalese of an insurance document. Don't waste your time arguing with the claims consultant if you haven't kept to your side of the policy bargain.

Anti-theft devices

It is probable that your insurer specified exactly what security devices, e.g., gear lock, immobilizer, tracking device had to be fitted to your car. If they find when you make a claim that you did no such thing, your policy becomes null and void. It is a good idea, in fact, to keep proof of such purchase and fitting in the event the worst case scenario arises and your car is stolen. Remember, the more anti-theft devices you associate with your car, the lower your premium will be. Even a simple gorilla lock will lessen the chances of thieves targeting your vehicle. And always make sure that you fit parts and accessories that are approved by your insurance company.

Overnight parking

When you took out your policy, you will have specified where you park your car at night, e.g., in a locked garage. If your car is stolen because you left open the garage door, your policy becomes null and void.

Yes. They will catch you out. It's called non-disclosure and is a serious offence.

Do I continue car insurance payments after my vehicle is stolen?

Before cancelling your insurance, which is the obvious thing to do, chat to both the police and insurance company to find out what the likelihood is of your car being found. If there is a strong possibility it will be found (statistically, if your car is going to be found, it will probably be located within 3 days), it is worthwhile to continue payments simply to avoid having to go through the whole process of taking out a new policy in a few days.

Last, but not least, if it was a skadonk and you were insured, thank your lucky stars and happy car shopping.

Hydrogen Generator Design - Using Hydrogen Generator Designs to Upgrade Your Car

A hydrogen generator design can help you convert your car into a fuel-efficient vehicle. In today's world, more people are turning to water powered cars to help them save up gas money and at the same time increase their car's mileage. Converting your car to utilize hydrogen power is not difficult. You just need to have the right materials and an armful of knowledge to assist you with building it. In order to understand this concept, you need to know what a water powered car is and how hydrogen can run your car.

Running On Hydrogen

Hydrogen is found in water and in petrol. Technically speaking, you cannot run a car on water alone. You utilize instead the hydrogen that is generated and passes through the engine, creating a mixture with the gas or petrol. When hydrogen mixes with gas or petrol, it increases efficiency by conducting a more complete combustion and improves the flame's spread within the cylinders, making your automobiles run on a better fuel air that would not have been possible without the hydrogen.

Building Your Own HHO Generator

Now that you understand how a car can run on hydrogen power and increases your fuel efficiency. The next question is where and how to actually convert your car to run on water fuel?

You need to acquaint yourself with the various methods and techniques available on how to build your own HHO Generator. There are various plans available online that you can purchase. If you are looking for free ones, these are also available. You just have to make sure that the instructions are easy to follow and that the instructions are exact.

Most of the materials used are available at your local hardware store. Some of the materials include a reservoir for water, basic electrical components, and other tubes to conduct the oxygen and hydrogen generated from the mixture. It is best that you invest some time in studying these designs before you actually go ahead and try creating one.

Having cars run on water helps increase the efficiency of the cars' engine. It also decreases the wear and tear it experiences compared to solely using gasoline or petrol. There will also be a marked difference in your car's overall performance since the combustion in the car's engine is complete. Apart from that, using a hydrogen generator design for your car helps emit less harmful exhaust thus helping save the environment.

Read this full guide that teaches you step by step on how to run a car on water using an easy to assemble hydrogen generator for car for less than $90 with parts from any local hardware store.

How To Draw A Car

Basics, Basics!

To learn how to draw cars you only need to have a basic understanding of geometric shapes. With this little bit of knowledge and understanding you can easily draw a car of any make or model.

Maybe a Sedan?

Perhaps you want to draw a sedan. A sedan is a four-door passenger car that seats five people and features a nice, roomy trunk. This is your typical family car and it is one of the easiest cars to draw.
  • To learn how to draw cars like this you need to begin with a simple, long rectangle. This rectangle is the basic length of your car.
  • Next, draw a smaller rectangle on top of the long one. This should not be directly in the middle because you want the hood of your car to be longer than the trunk.

    Combine the Shapes!

  • Now, you can combine the two shapes by adding a long curving line over the rectangles using them as your guide.
  • This line is the top of the car.
  • To make different styles or models of cars, you can adapt this line.
  • An older car will have a more boxed in look, while a newer car will be more streamline.
  • Next, draw a light line to show the ground. This will allow you to draw your two tires.
  • Your back tire is just to the left of the small rectangle. The front tire is closer to the front of the car.
  • What's Next?

The next step to draw a car is to add in the features of the car. Draw in your windows, the windshield, the back windshield, the bumpers, headlights, etc. Draw the outlines of the doors and door handle as well. Now it is time to add wheels to your tires.

    Finish it Off!

One you have your features drawn in you can erase any extra lines and shade in the car with color. You dont need many supplies to draw a car, just some good drawing paper, pencils and a little imagination.

    Upgrading Your Car Audio System

When it comes to upgrading your in car entertainment system, the choice can often be quite difficult. Car audio has come on in leaps and bounds in recent years with even low end of the market car stereo systems offering capabilities that would have normally been found in top of the range models previously.

When buying a new vehicle the audio system is usually the most basic model of a large volume producer which has been re-badged with the car manufacturer's logo to give it a smarter appearance. You will be offered an upgrade by the dealer but this will probably be a higher range model from the same manufacturer so your choice will be limited. For this upgrade you will be charged a considerable amount. I have often been in this situation and have taken the basic model with a view to upgrading after taking delivery of the vehicle and this is where the fun starts.

To begin with there is the choice of the latest dab radio versus the more conventional FM. If you are on a budget you may opt to sacrifice the dab radio in order to include a CD multi-changer. Then again you may decide against the CD multi-changer in favour of a single slot CD with an ipod mp3 player input and this is before you even get to the idea of a DVD player and this is just concentrating on single unit systems as opposed to separate amplifiers and sub woofers.

I have always gone with the idea of getting the most power with good quality speakers. This does not mean that I drive around with the car stereo on full blast, rather that a system working well within its capabilities will produce a much better sound without a hint of distortion. The sound quality of the music is always my first priority.

After this I turn my attention to the radio. If you listen to music radio you have to make a decision between dab and FM. Most stores will have a display set up so you can compare the two. I mainly listen to talk radio so the sound quality is not my main concern when it comes to this point.

The CD player is really a matter of choice. I have always liked the option of a CD multi-changer but if the budget will not stretch that far an ipod mp3 player input is a good alternative. This can either be connected by a front input jack or a rear connection to the same socket as a CD multi-changer. Both options are far superior to a fm transmitter.

To summarise, decide on a budget, get your priorities in order of importance and shop around to get the best choice.

I have been involved in the motor and transport industries for over 25 years and realise the importance of having a good in car entertainment system to keep you fresh and alert, especially on long journeys. I have always found a good selection of car audio systems at http://www.locatapart.co.uk.

By planning ahead you can help yourself to save a little money to spend on your travels. Be sure to top up your fuel every now and then, and make sure to fill the tank if you're looking to take a long drive down to the Keys. Running a Car

What does it cost to run a car? A lot of money will be the widespread and heartfelt cry. However, like with many items in the household budget, getting to grips with the costs of running a car and ensuring that they remain manageable is a relatively straight forward exercise. Through breaking down expenses into bite-sized chunks you could get a clearer idea of just where all the money is going and it should become easier to identify those areas where any savings can be made.

According to the latest figures (published by internet-based MSN News on the 20th of October 2008), running a car costs 16% more than it did in 2006, having risen by 13% during 2008 alone. Understanding the different elements that go into making such a steep rise could help motorists manage the increase and continue to use their vehicles regularly and effectively.
So, what are the principal elements involved in the cost of running a car?

    Fuel

The rising cost of fuel during 2008 is probably the single biggest factor for the increase in motoring costs. What this means for you, of course, will depend on the fuel consumption of your vehicle and what you need to pay for the petrol for each mile driven. This can be calculated relatively easily by filling the tank, turning the mileage counter back to zero and checking the mileage when the tank needs filling again. Because the reading will vary according to how, when and where you have been driving, this exercise would need to be repeated a few times to get a more accurate average cost of fuel per mile. If you also know your average annual mileage, it's then a simple matter of calculating how much you're spending each year on fuel.

Managing the costs is a fairly straight forward question of comparing the price of petrol per litre at the pumps in your area.

    Insurance

Figures suggest that the overall cost of car insurance has risen by just over 10% in the past two years. What you actually pay could, of course, depend on personal circumstances (such as your age, gender, occupation and where you live), but also your insurance record of past claims and any driving convictions, no claims bonuses, and the insurance category for the type of car you drive.

Despite the overall increase in insurance costs, it's still possible to obtain competitive quotes. For example, you can compare car insurance premiums as well as policy features and benefits by using our online car insurance comparison service.

    Servicing and MOTs

This is an area that has also seen significant increases, with servicing costs rising by an estimated 17.5% in the past two years and MOT tests by more than 20%. Changes to your driving habits and a generally more careful use of your vehicle might be able to reduce the actual costs of each service, although there is little you can do, of course, about the price you need to pay for the MOT test or, indeed, the various taxes on motoring generally (the latter are estimated to have risen by a total of 32.5%). The taxes you pay on your particular vehicle, will depend on its size, performance and energy efficiency.

    Depreciation

For many people, this is a "hidden" cost of running a car, yet it's where most of the money goes. With every month you own your vehicle and with every mile you drive, your car is depreciating in value. Over just a couple of years, of course, this can amount to several thousands of pounds, depending on the overall value, age and type of car you own.

In terms of the cost of running a car, however, it's important to bear in mind that some cars will depreciate in value more quickly than others and some will do better at holding their value for a longer period of time.

The Do it Yourself Car Tune Up

If you have ever had your mechanic give your car a tune up, you know it is not cheap. Most people who are not mechanics themselves assume they have no choice but to pay somebody else to do it. Not true! A do it yourself car tune up is something every single car owner should know how to do just because it makes you more independent...but it also can save you money.

There are some things you simply can't do yourself, like check the complex electronic sensors in today's advanced engines. You're stuck paying your mechanic to do that. But you can keep your car humming along yourself without paying through the nose. Here are seven easy things every car owner should know how to do (yes, even you ladies who don't fancy yourselves grease monkeys). Your car owner's manual will tell you where to find the engine parts you need to touch and tune up.

First, change your fuel filter. This can improve your gas mileage and prolong the life of your engine. You ought to change the filter once per year.

Second, change your oil filter. Oil lubricates your engine. The oil filter keeps your oil clean so it can do its job well. Replace the filter every time you change your oil, which will probably be about every 3,000 to 5,000 miles.

Third, change your own oil. This is one you should know how to do, but that you won't always do yourself (disposing of used motor oil is a bit of a pain in the neck, and your mechanic is all set up to do it). You will probably pay $25-50 to have somebody else do it, and you can do it yourself on most cars. That's a simple way to save money.

Fourth, replenish your fluids. That includes the windshield washer fluid and your motor oil. Learn how to check your own oil with the dipstick. There's no excuse for not knowing how to do that on your own. Why pay somebody for an hour of labor just to do something you can do yourself in about three minutes while you're filling up your gas tank?

Fifth, check your belts. You should let your mechanic handle the timing belt, but if others are worn, you can change them yourself.

Sixth, service your own battery. You might need to add distilled water (your owner's manual should help you know) from time to time. But you can always keep the cables clean and check the terminals for corrosion.

Seventh, change your wiper blades. This one wins the "easy" award. Almost any auto parts store (AutoZone, etc.) will have the right blades for your car, or can get them. Follow the instructions on the package and you will have a clean windshield in all weather, and you'll improve your road safety.

A do it yourself car tune up is not hard, and it is not expensive. You can not do everything yourself (and it is not worth your time if you could), but doing a few little things can save you a bundle next time you visit your mechanic.

    Pedal Car Restoration

Restoring a vintage pedal car is a great way to bring your stylish collectible back to its former glory. It is a time consuming, yet very rewarding, process. Restoration can mean everything from replacing a missing hubcap to completely overhauling the entire car. This, of course, will depend on the original condition, and your goals. Here's a guide to restoration for collectors of these wonderful toys.

First, find a pedal car to restore. Of course, you can restore your own childhood plaything. Restoring your childhood toy can be a great way to preserve fond memories. However, you can also purchase a vintage original specifically to restore. If you are purchasing a vintage car, look for a few things that will make your restoration job easier. If the body is straight with no damage, this will save you a lot of work. Consider the amount of restoration needed when buying a project car.

Then, carefully evaluate the condition of your pedal car. Look for areas that are worn or damaged. You should disassemble the car completely so that you can examine the interior parts as well. Make sure that you do not damage any nuts, bolts, or other mounting hardware in the process of disassembling the car.

Pedal car restoration for collectors can range from very simple projects to an elaborate undertaking. If your car is in relatively good condition, you may simply need to do a little work to preserve it. If your car only needs thorough cleaning and minor repairs, your work will be quite simple. Clean each part, make any necessary repairs, and then reassemble your project. However, if your car has rusted spots, worn paint, and missing pieces, you will have quite a lot of work ahead of you if you want to perform a full restoration.

Now, find any parts that you need to make your project car complete. It will be quite difficult to find the missing pieces of some models although if you're lucky, yours will be one of the more popular ones, and spare parts will be available. There are several online vendors of reproduction parts, or you may be able to find a part from a pedal car that is otherwise in poor condition. If all else fails, you may be able to craft a replacement.

Finally, prepare the car to be rebuilt. Strip and sand old paint and rust from the body, remove dents, weld cracks and holes, and repair rusted areas. Then send it out to be repainted inside and out, and send accessory parts to be chrome plated. Finally, install any replacement parts you have ordered, and put the pedal car back together. Be sure to fit it together once before the final assembly, to make sure that all of the parts will fit together correctly.

Pedal car restoration involves everything from replacing missing parts to refinishing the chassis or overhauling the drive mechanism. However, try to keep as much of the original equipment as possible, as this will add to the value of the finished result. Restoration is a balance of preserving the original pedal car and improving its display value. Restoring your dream collectible can be very rewarding as you watch it turn from a rusty old car to a beautiful, shiny pedal car worthy of display.

Classic Pedal Cars specializes in reproduction steel pedal cars that will last for years.

    Car Repossession

Car repossession occurs when a person falls behind on their car payments and the creditor reclaims the car. The basic idea behind car repossession is that the car has been bought on a hire purchase or loan agreement.

In case you can no longer proceed with the payment and the repossession of a car is the alternative, then you should become familiar with what your rights and responsibilities are in case you have not done it already. You should know it is illegitimate to hide the vehicle and avoid the repossession of a car you bought using a loan and, if that is however done, you will have to pay a fine and, in some cases, deal with criminal charges. Still, avoiding the repossession of a car can be done by hiding it in case of a court order. Otherwise you might be forced by the contract you signed with the loaner or by law to allow the repossession as it is.

If the repossession of a car you have not fully paid yet has already taken place, then you can still get your car back. It is true that getting it back depends on the lender and the contract you signed with him. If you are told by the loaning company that getting the car back is unacceptable, then you ought to check with the rules and laws of the state you live in to make sure that you are not misinformed by the company or the creditor.

State laws differ but generally, if you are behind on car payments, the creditor may take possession of your car without notice. Unless the contract gives a grace period, the car can be repossessed if you are only a day late. All you need to know are the legal procedures through which you can hinder the auctioning of your car.

All in all, the repossession of a car is quite a problematic business and you as credit consumer should do everything possible to avoid this measure if you can. In some cases, the creditor may even require you to pay for the expenses of the repossession, so it can turn out to be a loss from several points of view.

Yes, there are many lawyers, and many will claim to be experienced personal injury or car accident lawyers, but you should trust lawyers that can demonstrate a solid background in this type of cases since personal injury or car accidents claims use to be complex cases and overall, long processes.

    iPod Car Accessories

How many times have you turned on the radio, only to realize that you don't enjoy listening to any of the selected songs playing? This happens often to most of us who listen to the radio, at least to some degree, but with cables that can connect your iPod to your car stereo, you could always listen to your selection of music and not what some other person thinks you'll enjoy. Some of the most popular iPod car accessories are various cables which can connect your iPod to your car. These include various jacks including one that fits into a cassette player, first used to connect a CD player into a cassette drive. Gone are the days when you have to settle for what's playing. Now, you get to choose what you listen to all the time.

    Power Up

Another aforementioned iPod car accessory is the car charger. Just plug your iPod into your car's built in lighter and charge it while you're on the go. That's all you have to worry about, so you can take your iPod along even if it has no charge at all, and you'll never have to worry about it running out of power while you're in the car. You can even listen to music while you charge it up, so you'll literally never have to worry about what to listen to again.

Without a car charger for your iPod, every single time that you'd listen to music from your iPod, you'd be using part of its charge, and long trips might drain the iPod completely. However with a charger iPod car accessory, you're able to play music for the entire duration of the trip without using any of its charge, even recharging it if it is low on power, and then using that fully charged battery to listen to music after you've gotten out of the car. To get the most out of your iPod for car rides, check out iPod car accessories.

    Avoiding a Car Breakdown

Every year in the UK as many as 3 million drivers will experience a breakdown of their vehicle. In many cases the breakdown is the result of a problem that could have been avoided had the car owner performed some basic maintenance of their vehicle. To decrease the chances of a car breakdown there are a number of simple routine jobs that a driver can perform.

To ensure that their vehicle remains in a working condition car owners should aim to perform at least some of these checks -

Examine headlights, indicators and other exterior lights to ensure that they are all in working condition. In the UK it is a legal requirement for all vehicles to have fully working lights. Car owners should particularly check rear brake lights as it may not be noticeable in the day to day running of the car that these have broken. Headlight and indicator lenses should also be free from damage and should be kept clean so that they are easily visible.

Oil and water levels should be checked regularly and topped up when needed. In winter especially the anti-freeze content of the engine cooling system should also be checked. Depending on the type of battery it may be necessary to top it up with distilled water if levels have run low. Car owners should also look at battery connections to ensure that they haven't become loose or corroded.

Front and rear windscreen wipers should be checked firstly to see if they are aligned correctly and secondly for general signs of wear and tear.

The pressure and tread depth of all tyres including the spare should be regularly monitored to ensure that they meet the minimum legal standard. It can also be useful for car owners to have practised fitting the spare wheel so that they are prepared and know what to do should they get a flat tyre when driving.

A key that has become worn can cause damage to the lock, and so car keys should be checked and if necessary replaced.

As can be seen there are a number of simple routine tasks that car owners can carry out to ensure their vehicle stays in good working condition. Performing this maintenance can significantly reduce the chances of a car breakdown.

Rapid Recovery UK offers a full car breakdown recovery service. Based in Manchester Rapid Recovery also operate classic car transporter trailers.

    Keeping Your RC Car Steady

RC car racers have to make it a point that collision should be the last thing that can damage their vehicle. But, with the speed RC cars are capable of doing while on track, collision is a common scenario. If you are a newbie to handling RC cars as a hobby, there are some basics that you need to know. These basics are good for the type of RC vehicle that you own and for your own knowledge in RC racing.

First of all, shock absorbers or as it is popularly known, shocks, keep the vehicle suspended parallel to the tires and ground below it. A good set of shocks assure the owner that the chassis of a RC car doesn't touch the track nor does it cause the tires of the car to stray away. Keeping a good set of shock absorbers is the tricky part, so before entering any racing competition, test several set of shocks which you think would be effective in keeping your RC car chassis off of the racetrack.

Everybody knows that shock absorbers consist of a good set of springs as this allows the car to maintain the standard height from 0 level. For better performance though, a soft type of spring is preferred. As mentioned, it is better for you to test several springs at a time before entering a competition. You'll be the judge of the height of the chassis from the ground and whether the feel of the spring already suffices your preference.

To put your RC car under smooth control even if it bumps another car on track or experiences an ordinary bump, be sure you have the right amount of shock oil absorbed on the springs of the car. An appropriately positioned pistons absorb the excess energy caused from a collision or impact. This results to the steady motion of a vehicle.

Keeping your RC car free from unsteady movement and unnecessary bounce will give you peace of mind when driving it around or even when in a competition.

Racing Radio Controlled Cars is a perfect site in the internet to learn all about RC cars, tips on racing and maintenance.

Public Auto Auctions - The Secret of the $1,000 Car Worth $10,000

Are you ready to get your next car for 10% of the value? There is a way to do this with public auto auctions and you can use these tips to help you get the vehicle of your dreams for a fraction of the cost.

First, you have to find the right type of auctions. The best ones are those that are not heavily advertised and have a ton of vehicles. It is always good if you are bidding against less people for more vehicles. The ones that seem to have the best deals are any seized property auctions for vehicles. These are very rarely advertised, happen all the time, and you can get great cars, trucks, and SUVs for incredible prices.

Second, you need to have a strategy and know what you are after. Since this is where the used car dealers go to get their vehicles you need to know that you will be up against people that have been doing this for quite some time. Attend a few auctions before you ever bid so that you can get a feel for how everything will work and you can put together a strategy to help you get where you are trying to go.

Third, it is good to know a good mechanic if you are not one. Having a mechanic that will go to the auction with you, or at least before hand will help you know if you are going to be bidding on a good vehicle or not. You should always expect to do some routine maintenance with any used vehicle, but you don't want to get stuck with something that is just no good.

Last, you need to have a step by step plan for public auto auctions and you need to have access to the best auctions. This is how I was able to get a 2 year old mustang gt for under $1,000. Having a solid plan and access to the right auctions is crucial in this process and will save you a ton of cash.

How To Repair Your Car's Power Windows

As youre driving down the turnpike and approaching the tollbooth, you reach for the switch to lower your window and nothing happens. The switch moves but the window does not budge. Not even a noise from the window motor can be heard which strongly suggests to you that the device is not functioning. You must stop your car and open up the door to pay the attendant before continuing on your trip. Thoughts of an expensive car repair bill are dancing through your head, putting you in a foul mood and tempering the anticipated fun of your getaway weekend. Dont despair: you can repair the power window yourself and save a bundle over expensive dealership charges. Lets take a look at the steps you can take to fix the problem yourself and save a lot of cash in the process.

Before assuming that the window regulator must be replaced you should first rule out the possibility of dirty electrical contacts. On most cars the main power for all switches goes through the master switch located at the drivers console. Sometimes the switch is dirty causing the window to malfunction. If this is the case, take the necessary steps to clean the contact and your problem should be resolved.

Should you determine that the contacts are clean and your switch is functioning, then it is likely that the motor has burned out and is in need of replacing. Whether you are installing a Honda window regulator or a Volkswagen window regulator, or a regulator for any other make the steps involved in replacing a window regulator are usually quite similar:

    1. Remove the door panel for the affected window.

    2. Locate and remove the bolts holding the regulator to the door; it is likely you will have to manually lower the window in order to access the bolts.

    3. Remove the old regulator, disconnect all wiring, and replace the old regulator with a new one you have purchased from a parts supplier. Shop online to find the best value as you will pay a mint if you order one through a dealership.

    4. Tighten the bolts holding the new regulator and reinstall the moisture barrier. Make sure all the wires are put back in the door before closing the door panel.

    5. Engage the power window switch and the new regulator should work unimpeded.

Of course, follow your cars repair manual for specific instructions.

Ive given to you a general outline to convince you that this is a task that even a novice mechanic can handle in other words: you can do it! By handling the problem yourself, youll save plenty of money by avoiding garages who will mark up the replacement part as well as tack on several hours of labor costs to your bill. Shop online to compare prices and to receive the best shipping and handling arrangements available.

    Car Buying As-Is Means As-Is

AS-IS no guarantee or Warranty expressed or implied. Car buying guide to AS-IS.

This question seems to never be answered correctly or taken as a matter of fact by some consumers, AS-IS what does it really mean when purchasing a used car from a dealer or even a private seller. I will follow this up with definitions and documentation, but in all reality if you buy it AS-IS and you drive off in the vehicle and it blows up in to a million pieces and parts you now own all million parts, and still have to abide by the contracts you have signed in the process. When a car is purchased from a dealer and there is not a warrantee sold with the vehicle a Statement of Non-Guarantee should be signed by both the seller (Dealership) and the consumer (at least in Colorado not sure about other states). Taking excerpts from form Rev. 10/25 approved by Colorado Independent Automobile Dealers Association.

"Unless a separate ***written*** instrument showing the terms or any dealer warranty or service contract is furnished by the dealer to the buyer, this vehicle is sold "AS IS - not expressly warranted or guaranteed", and the seller hereby disclaims all warranties, either express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose."

"The purchaser shall not be entitled to recover from the dealer any consequential damages, damages to property, damages for loss or use, loss of profits, loss of time, loss of income, or any other incidental damages."

***written***... Never, Never, and I mean NEVER take the sales person's / Manager's word (or any one else for that matter) make sure it is WRITTEN down. Promises spoken are not promises at all. It will never hold up in court or other wise. No matter how reliable, friendly, or how much you trust them... DON'T TRUST ANYONE.

So what does all of that mean, well most of it is straight to the point. But in blunt terms, if you buy it AS-IS and you drive off the lot and it breaks in half. You now own both halves. It does not matter how long you have had value out of your purchase if it was one minute, one hour, one day, or one year it is still AS-IS. Now all of this sounds very harsh and unforgiving. Sorry but it is that is just the way it is. Not all of us can afford to go out and either buy cash or finance a new car with full warranty and all the benefits that go along with it. So what do we do?

    Do diligence, do your research.

Research the Dealer you are buying from. Check them out with the Better Business Bureau. If you have a friend or an acquaintance that purchased from them ask their opinion of their buying experience.

Ask if you can take the vehicle to an independent mechanic. If they refuse or beat around the bush you might consider going else where. They should be happy to allow that and have a test drive agreement ready for you to sign.

Have a mechanic ready, if you know one or have a regular shop you take your cars to use them it may cost a little bit in the short run but could save you in the long run.

If you can afford it, or if you can finance it a warranty may cover the major items such as engine or transmission. But be careful of the warranty as well some of them do not cover much either. And can claim pre-existing issues, or will not cover certain items.

Check it out your self. Test drive it, not just around the block. Take it out on the highway, side streets, and back roads. Drive how you normally drive, if you work down town head down there. Make sure you know what you are getting in to. Check the oil, transmission fluid, and all other fluids. Check the breaks, lights, tail lights, turn signals, backup lights. Don't kick the tires.. I have never known or seen this give any evidence of a good vehicle.

Tom Martino Wrote an Article some years ago in the Rocky Mountain News dated May 19, 1994 "Debunking consumer myths: 'As Is' really does mean 'As Is'".

Quote:"You buy things in "as is"condition, then believe you have recourse if the item falls apart a few days later. No way. "As Is" means just that. The only exception is when someone lies to you and you can prove it - for example they tell you there's a new engine in a car and there isn't. Even though it's as is you can argue in this case "as is" meant a new
    engine."

This is a really good article, Suggested reading for any one if you can find it.. I still have this article in print and I am sure the Denver News Paper agency has it archived some where.

    How Much Is This?

There are plenty of free hydrogen generator plans available over the Internet. It is just a matter of downloading them and finding ones that offer concise and easy to follow instructions. You can also opt to pay for the information. However, it is wiser if you just get them for free.

Once you have the plans, you can simply buy most of the materials you need from a hardware shop. These are just cheap, inexpensive items that you are going to need to build your own generator. If you think that it just requires too much money, think again. You spend around $100 each month on gas for your cars, just imagine how much your investment will be worth.

    Get Help with the Installation

Even if you are not a mechanic, most of the instructions for the HHO generator plans are easy to follow. You can also seek the advice of someone who might be able to give you a hand if you are hesitant. The Internet is also a good place to get help.

    Benefits of an HHO Generator

Once you have your own water powered car, you will reap the benefits by getting great mileage out of your car as well as saving you gas money. Apart from that, if you run a car on water, it will help reduce the amount of carbon that your car normally produces when using normal petrol. Thus you are helping save the environment. Remote Car Starters

James Bond had it, now you want it. A remote car starter allows a driver to turn-on the ignition of his car from a distance. Sure, maybe it's not on your 007 wristwatch, but there are a number of solutions out there from companies like Crimestopper, Audiovox, Directed, Viper, and Python.

So what can you do with these remote engine starters? The primary purpose for remote starters is convenience. You could warm up your car that is out in frigid weather while you're staying warm indoors. You could also do the same in blistering hot weather; remotely turn-on your engine with the A/C switch on so that it's nice and cool by the time you get in. Another purpose for remote ignition is security reasons. Whether you're a male or a female, it's always nice to have your car ready to go whenever you are, especially when you are in shady parts of town. And of course, the last purpose to having remote starters is the show-off factor because it completes the true wow-element of your vehicle. After all, who doesn't want to show off like James Bond?

There are a few things to be mindful of. Virtually every remote car start kit includes vehicle security and of course with that, they include some kind of remote. The pricing on these remote start security systems depend mostly on the abilities of the remote. I know it sounds crazy, but it's the truth. In essence, the price is based upon how smart your system is.

The more buttons the remote has, the more money it'll cost, because the more buttons usually mean more programmable functions such as keyless entry, arm/disarm, delayed starts, valet mode, and multi-tone activation. Another consideration is the ability for the system to communicate 2-way rather than just the typical 1-way. Think of your remote as your pager. 2-Way remotes allow the system to not only be controlled remotely by the user but also communicate to the user any disturbance to the car. This is crucial if you're dining out or shopping at the mall and your car is out of your sight. 2-Way remotes typically features a small LCD display to tell you exactly what's going on and they usually have obvious indicators to represent different things on your car that is disturbed (if your car is equipped with the sensors). Some systems indicate glass-breakage indicators or vicinity alarms to specify exact disturbances.

Another crucial aspect to consider is of course the range of your remote. Please remember that just because a product say that they feature a max range of 6000ft. means it's always going to be consistently 6000ft. Conditions would have to be perfect to reach that kind of consistency and range. The longest range I've heard anyone had for these systems is around 1500ft. that's about of a mile. This is great range for you since you could walk around for mile and not have to worry about your precious car.

Lastly, remember that once you wire your vehicle up for remote ignition, it is possible for thieves to steal your remote's code and frequency allowing them to impersonate you through their remote and driving off with your car. Though the possibility of this is unlikely, it is still possible. Some systems feature code-hopping countermeasures, allowing your system to change codes frequently to prevent thieves from finding the same exact code your system use for arming and disarming the system-giving an astronomically impossible combination of codes to be deciphered. Again with this added feature, expect the price to be higher.

In summary, I would suggest that you find a remote car starter system that is adequate for your needs. If you do want features, keep in mind that for each additional feature, there will be additional costs. I hope I have helped you in your decision making process. Good luck!

Car Loans After Bankruptcy - Tips to Getting Approved

A car loans after a bankruptcy is one way to help build back your credit history. In fact, once your bankruptcy closes, you can apply for a car loan the next day. To get approved with the best rates for your car loan, follow these tips.

    Review Your Credit Report

Before you start applying for a car loan, check out your credit report and make sure all your accounts are in order. It is not uncommon after a bankruptcy to see open accounts that should be closed, which hurt your credit rating.

While looking at your credit report, consider adding a page explaining the situation that resulted in your bankruptcy. If there were extenuating circumstances, lenders may approve you for a better rate than under normal conditions.

    Plan Your Car Purchase

Before purchasing a vehicle, decide what you can afford in a monthly car loan payment. This will help you decide which financing package is best for you. Both the loan amount and length of payments will determine your monthly payments, so there is flexibility in determining which vehicle you can afford to purchase.

    Use A Car Loan Lender

Car loan lenders make their money by finding you a loan. Car loan lenders work with several financing partners to back loans with all types of credit risk, including bankruptcies.

Online car loan lenders deal with thousands of loans, and can usually find you a better deal than your local car dealerships. Online car loan lenders will send you a check when you are approved, basically making you a pre-approved car loan buyer.

    Explain Your Situation

Car loan applications will ask if you have ever declared bankruptcy and why. This is your chance to explain what led up to the situation and what steps you have taken to resolve your credit situation. Be sure to include improvements in your financial history too.

    Consider Refinancing

Once you are approved for a car loan, keep your eye on future refinancing. By making regular payments on all your bills, in a years time you could qualify for significantly lower interest rates. In three years, you can build your credit score to near excellent and qualify for even lower rates.

Car Engine Cranks Over But Doesn't Start - Automotive Repair Tips

Many times in the past as an automotive technician, I would be given a car to diagnose that either had a problem that prevented the car's engine from turning over or that prevented the car's engine from starting. These are two completely different scenarios and these problems are approached differently. Sometimes when the service writer would create a work order, he wouldn't convey the REAL problem that the customer was experiencing. If the customer or the service writer would make sure the correct explanation of the problem is written, some unnecessary trips out to the car with the wrong tools would be avoided. For instance if the car doesn't crank over at all, I would need to take my jump box with me. And if the car cranked over but didn't start, I would want my scan tool and some starting fluid.

A car that cranks over but doesn't start, in many cases will be due to a bad fuel pump, a broken timing belt, an inoperative cam sensor or crank sensor. The first step in diagnosing a no start is to scan for codes with a code reader or scan tool. Approximately 40% of the cars towed in that I worked on in the last 25 years, either had a bad fuel pump or the fuel gage read incorrectly and the car was just out of fuel. Yes, some people actually have their cars towed in when all they need is some gas! If the fuel gage indicates that there is fuel in the tank, most people will assume naturally that the car does have fuel. But if the fuel sending unit or gage is off slightly, the car's gas tank could actually be empty. One of the easiest ways to check for a fuel pump related problem is to spray a little starting fluid into the air intake while trying to start the car. If the car starts momentarily, then there's a good chance the fuel pump is not working or the car is out of gas. You can also listen for the fuel pump's humming sound when the key is first turned on. Also if a inoperative fuel pump is suspected, a good technician will always check to verify there is power and ground being supplied to the pump, to eliminate the possibility of a bad relay or electrical issue. Fuel pressure can be checked with a pressure gage and if there is pressure, pulse can be checked at the fuel injectors in several ways including the most common, with the use of noid lights. If the injectors don't have pulse the engine won't start.

Broken timing belts also caused about 40% of the tow ins in my experience. A broken timing belt can fail causing the car to seem as if it ran out of fuel while driving. When trying to start the car though, the engine typically spins over faster than normal due to the engine having low compression from the timing being off and the valves being open at the wrong time. If the timing belt breaks, there sometimes could be a code set in the vehicles ECU (Electronic Control Unit) for no signal from the cam sensor. If this code is present, you can sometimes check to see if the cam is moving by removing the oil cap while someone engages the starter. Also the upper timing cover can be removed to allow access to the timing belt for inspection. Most of the time when a timing belt breaks the teeth (or cogs) are stripped down at the crank pulley the bottom sprocket preventing the belt from turning the camshaft.

Lack of pulse from the fuel injectors as stated before can prevent a car from running. This brings me to the third most common cause of a car that cranks over but doesn't start, approximately 20% of the tow ins that I worked on had the following problem. Many times the cause of lack of pulse is because of a bad cam or crank sensor. If the computer doesn't see either the crank or the cam turning, the fuel injectors won't be commanded to pulse. One quick indication that a cam or crank sensor may be bad is to check for RPM movement on the tachometer (if equipped) when trying to start the engine. If you have a scan tool not just a code reader, the cam and crank sensor data can be checked on many vehicles by accessing the appropriate screen. If no revolutions are shown when attempting to start the car, the respective sensor could be bad.

Obviously there are many vehicle makes, with different ignition and fuel delivery systems that may require a service manual to properly diagnose or to delve deeper. But with the above tips and tricks that I've used over the years you'll be checking the most likely causes, that hopefully will send you in the right direction.

    Elderly Car Accidents

Experts have successfully identified some of the major causes of car accidents, and a driver distraction such as using a cell phone, is one of them. However, apart from driver distractions, another major factor that experts have identified as a cause of car accidents is the age of the driver. Studies have shown that there is a higher incidence of car accidents among drivers in certain age groups. These groups include young people between the ages of 16 and 20 who are inexperienced drivers and the elderly who are 70 years or older. The elderly have certain physiological manifestations that develop with old age that can hinder their driving ability.

One of the most common problems the elderly face is poor vision. Poor vision is not only a complication of old age, but it is also a complication of many diseases including diabetes, which causes vision to blur. The reflexes of an elderly person are also slower. This in turn slows down the reaction time of an elderly driver making it difficult to make split-second decisions that could prevent an accident. Older people tire easily, making driving longer distances a challenge. This could lead to an elderly person falling asleep at the wheel, causing a serious, if not deadly, accident. Many elderly Americans are facing the day when their driver's license will be taken away. Unfortunately, when an elderly person has severe limitations behind the wheel, there is no other choice. Taking away a driver's license to someone who is used to independence is a tough step, but it does help save the lives of many elderly drivers and ensures the safety of others on the road.

Run Your Car on Water Myth Busted

Lately gas prices have been fluctuating like crazy. A few months ago we were paying nearly 5 dollars a gallon for gas, now its back down to less than two bucks a gallon! I mean what happened?

Well since this topic really isn't about the economy as a whole, I am not going to dive into the "why" are gas prices are the way they are. I am going to tell you one thing that happened when gas prices sky rocketed. When gas prices reached the level that they did, eventually people started believing that you could begin to run your car on water and save a lot of money on gas. However not many individuals realized that in order to run your car on water, you needed gas in the car as well, many people referred to this as an HHO Kit.

Once people realized the reality of it, they started to test it out for themselves. The average results ended nearly cutting the average gas bill in half. Yes these things can save you a lot of money, they are not scams, and they can be installed by anyone with a little bit of time, and about a $200 dollar investment. HHO kits may have died down a little because of the decrease in gas prices, but for those who installed this kit a while ago are now paying near to nothing for gas. So not only are you saving money on gas you are also throwing less pollution into the environment while using more through your engine.

90% of all HHO kits are reversible and require no body work.

Are you sick and tired of the rise in gas prices? Are you interested in building your own water powered vehicle? The author has created a review site that provides you with the best DIY Water Conversion Guides on the internet. Start saving money today! - http://waterforgasprograms.info

    Essentials of a Car Stereo

A car stereo is a basic requirement of a vehicle. Vehicles without stereos are considered old and outdated. One considers weight of his pocket and the kind of music he wants to listen to, this guides his decision on the car stereo equipment to purchase.

There are many reasons why one would want to buy this equipment; to install it if it's a new car, to replace the old radio with a CD, to upgrade an old car sub woofers, to power the old sub woofers and if one wants to increase the bass or soften the sound.

The car stereo equipment gives different options for your car. If you want to spend less, go for LCD display and ignore screen savers and flashy animations. A CD deck power up the old speakers, this is necessary when you want to replace the radio. An old car needs servicing, speaker sets help to boost the old speakers. An Mp3 CD player helps you to play downloaded music from the your computer.

Ensure your deck has 50w/ROMS to power it, sub woofer and amplifier to improve the bass, they should be connected in parallel circuit to improve the sound. The amplifier should be stronger than the sub woofer to prevent blowing. The Internet provides thorough information on car stereos, this helps you get all relevant information and where to purchase the equipment. Car stereos are pocket friendly, come in different sizes and gives many options making it available for all calibers. If you are still not sure about the essentials of a car stereo even with all this information, you should visit your local car stereo supply stores for clarification.

    The Z Car History

In 1970 it all began, Datsun released a spectacular sports car the 240Z or as known in Japan as the Fairlady Z. This Japanese manufactured vehicle competed with the best of them. It competed with European and American manufactures in not only performance but as well with its high quality sexy appeal. Not only did it beat them on the track and street but it beat them as well when it came to pricing. The 240Z is what opened up the door for the unbeatable world of Japanese imports we have today. The 240Z was the Japanese car that so many people desired. It was so desired that many of the buyers would have been willing to pay far more for it. The 240Z was the breakthrough that started it all for the entire Japanese automobile industry. The stereotypical opinion that Japanese Imports were second best second best suddenly changed and now they are among the best.

Over the next 26 years following the release of the Datsun 240Z, Datsun became Nissan. At that point the Z grew and grew with Nissan producing many models. The 260Z, 280Z, 280ZX, 300ZX all in different styles and trims. After all this the Z car slowly began to disappear from the United States. After being away for a while Nissan decided it was time to bring it back. They came back to America seven years later with the new Z, known as the 350Z. . The Z currently holds the record for the best selling sports cars of all time with well over 1.6 million sold in over the five generations it's been in existence.

The Newest of the Z car, the 350Z is not only good looking, reliable, and a strong performer but it is as well affordable. With its front mounted engine and two doors it is designed to appeal to every ones eyes. The 350Z emerged after the Nissan 300zx was taken off the U.S. Market back in 1996. The 350z resembles the original Z with a much more modern look. The engine within the beast is a VQ35DE, a strong reliable engine that produces mass amounts of torque. The 350z has the typical layout of all Z cars, a long nose with a short back. It is there to perform with the best. After all it does have a history to live up to.

    Detailing a Car

When it comes to detailing a car, there are some basic tips you need to know in order to do it correctly. You will want a spray cleaner for the inside of your car. Follow the manufacturer's label on all of your automobile detailing products and get a decent white wall cleaner. Detailing is the difference between just having a clean car and a car that really pops and shines. Detailing is exactly what it says; paying attention to small details that make the difference between a good looking car and a great looking car.

So, where do you start? The easiest place to start is in the interior so that you can get all the dust and dirt out prior to working on the outside. If you do it in reverse, then all the hard work you put on the exterior of your car will be marred by the dust, dirt and grime coming from the interior. You'll want to start with vacuum cleaning, including the dash and rear parcel shelf. Then move onto the front seats - fore and aft - to get rid of all the accumulated dirt and that fortune in loose change you've lost over time. Get yourself a good spray cleaner and work on any stains applying solution and then blotting with paper towels or a dry cloth. After applying, repeat as necessary going over the area with the damp sponge before final blotting on carpeting or upholstery.

Next, you're going to want to see if there are any burn marks or holes in your carpeting. If you find some take a razor blade and scissors and cut out a small patch from a hidden spot of the carpeting, like up underneath the seat. Cement it in place using a water resistant glue and finally blend in the repair by brushing the nap.

Floor mats are next. If they are rubber, apply something that does not leave a slippery finish or sticky mess, for obvious reasons. You want to clean all of the interior hard surfaces with a damp cloth and an all-purpose cleaner like Simply Green or Simply Orange which you will dilute 10 to 1. If your seats are vinyl covered, get a conditioner that's made for that material in your local automobile store. Be sure and avoid products that result in a high gloss, slippery surface, because you don't want your passengers to feel like they're on a roller coaster while riding in your car. If you're upholstery is leather, get a leather conditioner. Never use a vinyl product on leather.

Pay special attention to your dashboard. There are crevices and bezels that you might not be able to get to with your cleaning rag. You can use a can of compressed air to blow the dust and dirt from in those areas. The can of air can be found at your local computer store. Another idea is to use cotton swabs. Be sure and pay close attention to the cleaning products you use on your dashboard. If your dashboard has a flat finish, avoid using a product that leaves a shiny gloss.

Clean out the air vents with cotton swabs and make them brighter. I sprang on some final over her dressing or just the touch of an accent spray. Spread onto a soft towel, if you're going to apply it to wood trim. These few details should get you started on detailing your car. Once you've finished the interior, you can move on to the exterior for a fabulous looking car that neighbors will adore.

    Car Accident Statistics

Car accident statistics indicate that at least four people involved in car accidents die every hour. These accidents could be due to the fault of the driver, the other driver, or due to a faulty vehicle. The important thing to consider is the number of deaths occurring every day, excluding the people involved in car accidents and sustaining severe personal injuries.

The main causes for car accidents are reckless and negligent driving and alcohol. Teenagers, according to the statistics, cause most car accidents Inexperience coupled with irresponsible behavior and a lack of respect for the safety precautions are the main causes for such a high number of teenage car accidents.

Another reason is the inattentiveness of the driver. Many people talk while driving, which might prove to be fatal because it distracts the driver from the road. Even though hands free mobile phones are the latest craze, the driver would be unable to concentrate on the road while on the phone. The best option would be to park and then take the call, or not take the call at all while driving. These rules have already been implemented in a number of states.

Inattentiveness can also be caused due to alcohol, drugs, or the driver being distracted by music in the car. This might prove to be perilous to other drivers on the road and might result in either distracting them with reckless driving or causing side or rear end collisions due to inattentiveness. Such negligence can even cause pileups in highways and must be avoided at all costs.

Car accidents can be very traumatic, sometimes affecting the person for the rest of their life. Other than the physical injuries that may result due to the accident, mental pressure might also result. A few precautions can eliminate the prospect of accidents on the roads and provide a safety net. It is advised to follow the safety road rules and not drive while on the phone or while on drugs or alcohol.

Car Insurance No Claims Bonus Explained

No Claims Bonus is a term used to describe the number of years you have had Car Insurance without making a claim. Put simply, if you have had Car Insurance for 4 years and you have not made a claim in that time, then you have 4 years No Claims Bonus. No Claim Bonus is probably the single biggest factor affecting the cost of your Car Insurance premium. Every year that goes by without you making a claim is another year of No Claims Bonus.

Generally speaking, the more No Claims Bonus years you have, the cheaper your premium will be for the car you need to insure. This is because Car Insurance companies can see that your history regarding making any accident claim is a good one.

When changing provider, Car Insurance companies will usually ask you to prove your No Claims Bonus in the form of a renewal notice or a letter from your current Car Insurance company. If you have several years of No Claims Bonus but then make a claim, the Car Insurance company will usually apply it's rules of how much to knock back your No Claims Bonus Years. Some companies such as Accept Direct http://www.acceptdirect.co.uk offer to protect your No Claims Bonus for an extra fee during the quotation process. Having full no claims bonus can also entitle you up to 75% discount on your car insurance premium.

If you want this feature, you have to tap into the wire that activates your headlights. You can find this wire under the dash. You can refer to your car circuitry manual if you are not familiar with the wirings of your car.

However, if you want your interior lights to be independent from the headlights, use the lighting system switch panel and plug it into a power source. Normally, this involves plugging the lighting system switches directly to a main power cable connected to the car battery. In this way, even if your car is idle, the interior lighting system can still work.

After everything is connected, reattach the negative battery cable and start testing your new interior lighting system. If it produces dim lights or below average illumination, you can check the car's wiring setup again for possible loose connections.

These are basically the general steps involved when installing your set of neon interior car lights. After installation, you can now flaunt your card to your friends. You can also participate in a car show and who knows, your car might be the next car show champion.

Company Car Tax Information & Advice

    1. What is the company car tax?

If your employer gives you a car to use for both business and private use, then you have to pay a tax based on the use of the car. If you earn more than 8,500 per year and have use of a car, then you have to pay the tax on it. There is also an additional tax if you get free or subsidized fuel for your private use of the car.

    2. What is the Company Car Tax calculator?

The company car tax calculator helps you to calculate the benefit in kind value of the company car and the car fuel benefit. This calculator provides you with the amount of tax you are liable for as a result of using the car for your private use.

    3. What is the tax on the company car based on?

The tax you pay on the company car depends on several factors. These include:

    • The list price of the car and if it has any accessories
    • The approved Co2 emission guides of the car
    • The amount of fuel the car uses
    • Whether or not you pay a lump sum for the car
    • Whether you have to make any payments to the company for the private use of the car
    • The part of the year that it was available for your private use
    • The normal rate of taxation is between 15% and 35% of the list price of the car. It will never exceed 35%.
    4. If I only use the car for business, do I still have to pay the tax?

If you only use the car for business purposes, you won't have to pay any tax. This includes driving to meet clients. As long as you don't use the company car for your own private use, you will not have to pay any tax.

    5. How can I prove that I don't use the company car for private use?

Your employer is the one that is responsible for the record keeping on the company car. However, you do have to keep accurate mileage records and you may have to sign an agreement that you will only use the car for company business. The use of the car map also be part of your contract of employment with the company and the type of use will be stipulated in the contract.

    6. Are there special regulations for disabled employees with a company car?

Yes there are special regulations in place with respect to a disabled employee who needs to have a car with an automatic transmission. In this case, you would have to use the Co2 emissions charge that is closest to the manual equivalent. Some of the equipment used in the car may also be tax-deductible, such as that which is used solely by a disabled person or equipment included so that an employee with a disability badge can use the car.

    7. What shouldn't I include in the price of accessories?

When you are making up the price of accessories that are added to the company car, there are some things that are not to be included. These are:

    • Accessories that were in the car when you received it
    • A mobile telephone
    • Accessories used by disabled employees
    • Any privately owned accessories
    • The cost of converting the car to LPG or CNG after you first registered it
    • Any accessory that you need for business
    • Accessories that are not attached to the car, such as floor mats

    8. Can I claim a replacement car?

If for some reason your normal company car was not available, you can claim the use of a replacement car. However, it only applies if you normal car was not available for a continuous period less than 30 days. You won't have to pay tax on the replacement is if was a better car than the one you normally drive or if there was no arrangement to provide you with a better car.

    9. What are advisory fuel rates?

Advisory fuel rates are designed to reflect the fuel rates at the time they were set. The intention is to save employers and employees time with having to figure out the average fuel costs they incur.

    Hydrogen Car Kits - Reviewed

There are three hydrogen car kits guides that really cover the process of converting your car to run on water in a thorough and professional manner. The three top guides are Half Water Half Gas, Water 4 Gas and Run Your Car On Water.

    Half Water Half Gas

    - This guide basically stands apart from the other two because of the way in which the information has been covered. The quality of the information here is top notch, and will allow you to get the job done. What was most impressive though about this particular guide was the fact that it was presented in such a professional manner, with video included to make it easier to follow the process of conversion.

    Water 4 Gas

    - This guide was actually the original guide on the market for converting your car to run on water. The creator "Ozzie" is actually now quite famous, has been on TV a few times, and shows up quite often with his "Water 4 Gas team" in Los Angeles, to promote and demonstrate the Water 4 Gas system live in front of people who are interested in the technology. The guide is to the point, and in fact out of the top three guides, it is probably the most detailed in terms of step by step processes being written and presented in a downloadable format. This guide is a little more expensive than that of the others, but does provide some very valuable "bonuses" as part of the package.

    Run Your Car On Water

    - This guide is really the simple, straight down to it guide out of these three guides. This guide was probably created as a copy of Water 4 Gas by an online businessman, and then simply repackaged and put together to be at a cheaper price point than the others. Having said that, and despite its simplistic format and presentation, this guide is well worth the small investment for those who are looking for the cheapest option possible.

So that is basically what you need to know of the top conversion kits. Its important to understand here that all of the guides really are based on the same overall system, and have just been formatted and presented in different ways, and priced accordingly.

So if you are feeling the burn of high gas prices, then you are not alone, and take comfort in the fact that their is a solution (hydrogen conversion technology). While you may be skeptical, many have been in the same place as you are now, have given it a shot, and are now saving over 40% of their gas bill each and every month. To join them, or even just to find out more, get on over to this hydrogen car kits review and comparison site, it really helped me choose the right kit to get my car running using water, and if you are serious about doing it I recommend getting the best guide, as there are some pretty bad ones out there. You can also see more information at my friend Jack's website at http://www.squidoo.com/buyhydrogencarkit

This article may be used on your website if you wish, just on the condition that it is not changed in any way, and you insure you keep the resource box EXACTLY as it is written here.

    What is a Supercar?

When Henry Ford started producing automobiles, a car was, well, a car. And when Henry's cars had lived out their life and were hauled off to a wrecking yard for burial, they were still a car.
Of course, there were convertibles, sedans, sports cars, trucks and racing cars. But if one of these began its life as, say, a convertible, it was still a convertible when its life ended.

Fast-forward to the 1960's and the present day. Yes, we still have convertibles, sedans, sports cars, trucks and racing cars. But we also have cult cars, chick cars, guy cars, muscle cars, classic cars, and super cars. And while there was never any controversy over whether a convertible was a convertible or a sedan was a sedan, there is disagreement over whether a car is or isn't a cult car, chick car, guy car, muscle car, classic car, or super car.

Further, once a convertible always a convertible. But not so with a super car. A car can be a super car in one decade but not in the next. So what characteristics constitute it?

Historically, the term super car was originally used in 1917 in an article in Car and Track about an Alfa Romeo Monza. However, CAR Magazine takes credit for 'coining' the phrase when L. J. K. Setright, a well-known British motor journalist, applied it to the Lamborghini Miura in the 1960's. In the 1970's it was used regularly although there still wasn't total agreement on exactly what it meant. That is still the case today although there are some benchmarks.

A must is high speed. However, the ability to attain ultimate speed levels alone is not sufficient. The car must also have world class handling ability when driven at these speeds. As a result, they usually have rear engine placement and rear wheel drive. This feature places the bulk of the car's weight in the middle of the car and permits intricate maneuvering and precision handling at high speeds.

Another feature is high acceleration. The vehicle should be able to go from 0 to 100 mph in less than seven seconds and from 0 to 200 mph in less than thirty seconds. Added to high performance are the characteristics, which are more difficult to define, and may be the cause of some of the controversy in labeling a supercar.

It should be 'exotic' in appearance and be on the cutting edge of design. Although not a benchmark, one feature that all super autos share is high price which translates to anywhere from a few hundred thousand to around two million dollars.

They can either be factory models or modifications of factory models. An example of a modification is the 1986 Pontiac Trans AM. The Polly Motorsport Company, based in Norway, took this car and modified it so it was 'lightening fast.' The modified Trans AM set a speed record of 407.134 kmph on the Papenburg Test Track in Germany. It could also accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 2.3 seconds. Not only is it now a super car, it is also the fastest street legal car in Europe.

Another automobile that achieved both super and cult status is the Lamborghini Countach, popularized due to its extreme design.

One is not likely to encounter a super car on the way to work during the morning rush hour. In fact, this car is not a daily commuter; it is a toy, albeit a high priced one designed for fun for the elite.

    iPod Car Accessories

Repo Car Auction - Benefit From Repossession

Repo or repossessed car auctions gives you the chance to buy the car of your choice at a cheap price. Repo car auction is the place where repossessed vehicles are auctioned. Repossessed vehicles are those vehicles confiscated by banks or loan companies when the owners were unable to pay for the car mortgage. In some cases, the government has the authority to repossess a private vehicle on account of a particular legal or foreclosure law against the owner. These auctions provide you the opportunity to buy any type or make or models of vehicles which includes the likes of SUVs, coupes, sedans, vans, minivans and even convertibles.

In repo car auctions, cars come in all conditions. You can find cars that are in superb condition and at the same time, find cars that are completely trashed. These auctions even provide you the chance to buy new cars for almost half its actual price. The extent of bidding depends on the car's condition, model, and the amount of people bidding for it. In general, people participating in the auction begin with a low bid. The bidding price will gradually increase like in any other auction and can sometimes even cross the original price of the car being auctioned.

If you want to avoid getting caught in the heat of the bidding and make unrealistic bid amounts, you need to set bid limits before the bidding starts. Even though this is the case, normally, you can find a used car in reasonable condition for 80-90 percent off the actual price. The amount of potential saving offered by repo car auctions is what makes them worth it. It is extremely difficult to get the kind of cars at the kind of price that are offered at these car auctions from dealers or private resellers.

There are several things that you should be careful about if you are intending to get a good deal. You should inspect the used cars properly before the auction begins. If you are not good at inspecting the used cars, you can get the cars inspected by someone who is experienced in repo car auctions or someone with good knowledge about cars. You should know the actual price of the car you are looking for and don't forget to bring your used-car price guide to the auction site. The experience you get from attending these car auctions will help you a lot in future auctions.

You will need an Auction Locator to find these auctions in your area. Here is the best one available:

Leasing Versus Buying a New Car

Car transport is the most popular way of getting around in villages, cities, and small towns. When it comes to owning a car, many people grapple with whether, it is better to lease or to buy a car. People that do not have a great deal money or those that would rather use the money for something else can lease a car. This is because leasing a new car does not require the person to have a large amount money as some leasing companies only expect a little amount of money for the lease, while others do not expect any money at all. People that lease new cars, will be required to pay small amounts of money every month as well. All this is good enough, but at the end of the lease, the leaser will be left with no car. On the other hand, buying a car is more costly initially, as one will have to pay a tidy sum of money every month for it. The best part of it is after the payments, the car will wholly belong to the buyer and they can either keep it or sell it to buy a new one.

Leasing also helps those looking to experience an expensive car, but do not have the money to buy one. Thus, one can drive in a flashy car, without necessarily owning the car; this is possible via leasing. Monotony is a problem people that have driven the same car for years often face. This problem can be dealt with, if a person chooses to lease as they can change their car after several years. One more reason, as to why leasing a car can be the better option, is that the owner will not be subjected to trade-in hassles, when their leasing period is over, they will walk way peacefully. One important thing to note is that leasing cars is not for people that love to keep their cars for extended periods, it is for drivers whose mileage is high, or for the kind of people that do not like making decisions on new cars on a regular basis. People that are not into building equity, have stable incomes and do not like selling and trading in used cars can go for leasing.

During periods of low interest rates, it is financially sensible to buy a car rather than lease one, as one will not pay much for it. The problem of mileage penalty will not keep car owners awake, as they will not be subjected to it. Buying a car is more flexible than leasing one, because the owner can do whatever they want with it, they could sell it at their convenience and so on. People that would rather drive a car they own for years to spread the cost out, those that like customizing cars or those that expect lifestyle changes any time soon can buy the car. No one can say for sure whether leasing a car is better than buying a car and vice versa. The decision one will make will depend on their lifestyles as well as their priorities in finances and cars.

An Armored Car For the Public

Everyone is accustomed to see the armored cars parked (often illegally) outside of banks and businesses where uniformed men load and unload huge bags of what must be money. And everyone has also seen the mundane but practical SUV's driven by 'soccer moms' loading groceries in the grocery store parking lots or disgorging kids and sports equipment at the local baseball fields.

Traditionally an armored car was strictly for the security business. Enter the Conquest Knight XV. Car News describes the Knight XV as "an ultra-luxurious handcrafted, Bio-fuel powered fully armoured SUV."

The Knight XV is handcrafted and each vehicle requires 1500 hours to build. The company plans to build a limited first run comprising l00 vehicles. The Knight XV was first introduced to the public at the SEMA show in Las Vegas and displayed more recently at the well-known Farrett-Jackson Collector Car Event held in Scottsdale, Arizona.

It will appeal to aficionados of those things military. Its role model is the Gurkha military vehicle used by the US Army, the Russian Foreign Ministry, and various SWAT teams. The Knight XV definitely has the military look. It is the brainchild of Conquest Vehicles, Inc., a company housed in Toronto, Canada. Conquest specializes in the design and manufacture of fully armored, luxurious, handcrafted sport utility vehicles.

The Knight XV is also fully armored. The windows and windscreen are constructed from a 2.5-inch transparent material that is bulletproof. The body is crafted from ballistic hardened steel with ballistic hardened fiberglass fenders and bumpers. Mickey Thompson Baja Radial ATZ ballistic run-flat tires are mounted on the 20 inch forged aluminum wheels. This is an oversized SUV built on a Ford F550 chassis, as is the Gurkha. The Knight XV is 20 feet long by 8 feet, 2 inches wide. It stands 8 feet, 4 inches tall with a 14-inch ground clearance. It has a 141-inch wheelbase and weights 12,000 pounds.

It is equipped with a 6.8 liter V10 engine producing 400 hp and 498 ft-lb or torque.

The engine was built to operate on bio-fuel however it can also run on petrol or diesel. The fuel tank has a 40-gallon capacity.

The 283-cubic-foot interior is spacious and luxurious. It features Wilton Wool luxury carpeting and Andrew Muirhead leather. Each boardroom style seat is 6 way powered and has its own side mounted lap top station. Other amenities are the Tandem glass sunroof equipped with privacy shades, LED ambient cabin lighting, TV monitors, Bluetooth equipment, Alpine AM FM CD DVD navigation, and Playstation 3. A night vision rear camera is also installed.

The Knight XV is equipped with an E-85 Ethanol conversion system (Flex Fuel) with California certification. It is therefore certified in all states.

According to Conquest President William Maizlin the Knight XV is designed to "appeal to high profile individuals with discriminate tastes that place security and luxury at the top of their list when it comes to acquiring a bespoke luxury vehicle."

Innovative Gadget Prevent Kids From Releasing Car Safety Belt

Approaching the National Child Passenger Safety Week, one new device dubbed as the Angelguard was introduced in an effort to keep young children strapped safely to their car seats. The device is aimed to prevent young children from accidentally releasing the safety belt buckle to reduce the risk of major injury or even death of kids during collisions.

You may strap your little one in a child seatbelt such an act will be rendered useless when these little tots could accidentally release them from their safety locks. Kids not safely strapped on their car seats can be easily thrown around the rear of the car or even into the front seats of a car during violent crashes. This may lead to severe injury to a child or even death.

To address the problem of seat belt buckle being released accidentally by kids, Patricia Mandarino spent a year in developing a gadget that will prevent kids from doing so. Her effort to create such a device that will keep kids secure in their seat is due to her observations when her three-year old daughter finds it easy to unfasten her safety belt. She also discovered that almost every parent faces the same problem.

Mandarino looked for devices in stores that will address the problem but her search was in vain. The realization was that there are no available products in the market that will prevent small children from unfastening their safety belts, made her devote time to design a way to prevent such occurrences.

The result of her labor is a simple product that slips into place over the safety belt release button thus making it hard for children to unfasten their seatbelts even if they do so intentionally. The product is constructed out of a strong type of plastic and can be easily used by adults. The simplicity of the device belies the great help it provides to parents in keeping their precious cargoes safely secured on their seats.

The introduction of such a gadget will further improve car safety for children onboard and inside a car. This also gives parents that certain peace of mind knowing that their kids cannot accidentally or intentionally unfasten their safety belts.

The arrival of a gadget such as the Angelguard will surely be welcomed by parents. Especially with the fact recently discovered by a study that shows one-third of its respondents said that their child (or children) has unfastened their seatbelts. As a matter of fact, many of the respondents in the said study stated that their children managed to unfasten their safety belts not just once but they actually do so frequently. Add to that the fact that traffic crashes are the foremost cause of child death from ages three upward. This figure comes from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Arrival of the said safety device comes on the heels of other breakthroughs in child car safety like the ones employed on the Volvo V70.

In a time where awareness for child safety is emphasized, such a product as the Angelguard will indeed be welcomed. When great brake components like the EBC Greenstuff brake parts are not enough to protect a vehicle from crashes, additional safety devices are needed to improve the safety of a cars occupants. The call for increase safety features is already being answered not only by large companies but also by individuals and this can only be good for the cause of protecting motorists. If more innovation like this comes out in the near future, it will be a good step forward for car safety. Consumers can expect cars being safer and safer for their children thanks to individuals such as Mandarino and companies like Volvo that continually pushes the envelope in car safety issues.

    Car Accidents

A motorist owes a "duty of care" to other road users. This means he/she should not hurt other people, whether other drivers, passengers (including passengers in his/her own vehicle), pedestrians, cyclists and so forth.

In simple terms, what has to be shown if your claim is to be successful is that the motorist has been at fault because he or she has failed to drive with reasonable care.

If a motorist who is at fault is either uninsured or untraced, then innocent victims are protected by the Motor Insurers' Bureau (the MIB), which provides a fund that can be claimed against in these circumstances.

The UK has one of the best records for road safety in the EU, and also compares favorably with countries such as Japan, Australia and the US.

However, road traffic accidents are still a leading cause of death and serious injury in this country. Figures from the Department of Transport show that in the year 2006, there were over 3,000 fatalities and 28,000 serious injuries. There were more than 258,000 recorded injuries in total.

There are around 10,000 car accidents in the UK every day. Car accidents can be caused by vehicle failure or poor road maintenance. The vast majority are the result of human error.

When presented with a possible car accident claim there are a few elements that need to be considered and checked against. From the beginning we need to make sure that the police are aware of every element of injury to you and damage to your car. The smallest scratch, as well as the smallest inconvenience regarding time and finance can constitute a successful claim.

Also a very important aspect of any potential claim is time. It is vital that the case is submitted as soon as possible to ensure a successful claim.

The Highway Code is a good guide when trying to assess who is at fault. Some of the more common faults in driving result from speeding, overtaking, failing to keep a proper lookout.

    Why Won't My Car Start?

Have you ever had your car just "die" on you, you try to start it and it just will not start. You end up calling a tow truck and paying those big tow bills, then to make matters worse the technician at the shoptells you that it will cost hundreds of dollars to make it run again,is that true? Maybe maybe not.

I own and work as a diagnostics Tech here at Ace Automotive in Lakewood Wa and I can tell you from experience if some people knew just a little more about their cars workings they could save a whole lotta money. Say for instance you are driving at night wipers and heater ,lights and radio on you notice that the headlights keep getting dimmer and dimmer soon the vehicle "dies" and now won't start the most likely cause is the alternator has failed, not the battery because if the battery failed the alternator would still keep power to the vehicle until you turned it off then it would not restart.

You are driving for a while and the car just "shuts off" all the instrument lights come on but when you try to start it it just turns over but will not start. First it depends what kind of car this happend to if it was an import like say Honda, acura, toyota, subaru, nissan, mitubishi, the engine timing belt may have broken (if it's been more that 60,000 miles since you changed it last time) you should be able to tell if when you try to start the engine it sounds different like its just "freewheeling" faster than normal, this is bad cause most of the import cars mentioned will do expensive damage to the engine when the timing belt breaks.

If your vehicle is a domestic one chevy ford ect, be patient wait a little bit maybe 30-45 min and try to start it if it starts hurray! But it will "die" again once it's hot enough again, be sure to tell your local tech this valuable information and ask for all parts they replace to repair your vehicle to let them know you know something about the car too.

Getting Your Car Ready For Winter

Although all us don't live in Alaska where some folks have to hook up their cars to an engine warmer every night, we all still need to think about getting your car ready for winter. If you live in a region where the temperatures dip below freezing only a couple of nights during the winter months, you will need to make sure your car's engine is winterized. You don't want to wake up one frosty morning to find that the block is cracked in your car from freezing temperatures!

One of the first things you'll want to do to get your car ready for the cold is to change the viscosity of your oil. Don't be alarmed! This only means how thick or thin the oil is! The oil gets thick when it gets cold. The thing to is to change the oil and add a thinner oil during the winter months. Check your owner's manual for oil what weight of oil they recommend for the winter. Getting the oil ready is an important step in getting your car ready for winter.

Having antifreeze present in the radiator keeps the water inside it from freezing. Here is where the cracked block will come into play. If the antifreeze isn't in the water, the water will freeze and expand and crack the block. Making sure your car has the correct amount of antifreeze in it will save you a lot! If you put the antifreeze in yourself, make sure to safely dispose of the container because it is poisonous upon ingestion.

The cold is brutal to a car. Check hoses and belts to make sure they are in good shape. The cold will cause them to deteriorate at a faster rate. Those that are in bad shape to start with will be the ones to go in the winter. Also inspect your windshield wipers and wiper fluid. If your windshield wipers have been on for more than a year, it's time to get new ones for the coming winter. Make sure you keep the wiper fluid reservoir full also. You don't want to get caught in the snow without any wipers!

If you live where the snow is imminent in winter, check into getting a set of snow tires for your car. If you drive a 4-wheel drive, ensure that the 4-wheel drive system is in good working order. The gears should engage and disengage smoothly and there shouldn't be any noises coming from the drive train. Getting your car ready for winter will be worth it when you are able to still make it to the store!

Another tip for getting your car ready for winter is to make an emergency kit of assorted tools and the sort to keep in the car. For winter, you'll want to add a blanket and a portable heater that can be plugged into the cigarette lighter. A flashlight, food, a snow scraper and a shovel are other winter items to add to this kit.

In Case You'll Need a Car Repair Los Angeles

Los Angeles is a huge city. Traveling from one location to another in LA can take hours. If you dont know which freeways or highways to drive youll run the risk of driving around and around the same ring and never reach your destination. Thus, car repair in this city is a complicated problem if you dont have the car repair map of Los Angeles.

The maps are available online and also as separate bulletins in many of the gasoline stations of the city. However, the one with automated systems for doing the repair works in the car are highly preferred by the car owners.

When there is defect in the emission systems, the repair works need to be carried out on war foot basis. You cannot wait till you find some reputed firm to deal this kind of emergency repair.

However, it is better to approach the famous firms that are involved with car repair for many years. Further, one has to enquire whether the car care help center is capable of identifying the repairs in the car.

The payment of car repair may be made like in any other places in USA by means of the credit card based payment systems. Many firms that have more reputations of dealing in such car repair works for many years do car repair in Virginia Beach sides.

However, the maps available online need to be utilized to approach such reputed car care clinic or the firms. The automated cleaning and repairing systems are found to be better in such car repair places.

The car repair stations of Virginia Beach without automated systems for repair works of the cars belonging to many firms are not welcome ones by the car owners. Most of the Americans look out these features before approaching these firms for the purpose of car repair.

Car Wrap Programs - How Do They Work?

As car advertising becomes more and more popular by day, you have probably seen on the streets cars that are wrapped in advertisements. The concept car advertising is based on is pretty simple: companies that want to get more exposure pay regular people to drive their cars as they usually do, but with an advertisement on. This way, they get a lot of exposure at a cheap price.

If you do not own a car, you can still be part of this business. There are companies that are glad to give away free cars, already wrapped in advertisements, and let people drive them for anywhere between 2 and 5 years.

People that already have a car can get paid in accordance to the distance they drive every month, as well as to the size of the advertisement they choose to put on. For this kind of "job", the average salary is about $400-$600 a month, but in order to get this money, you must turn the advertising car into your primary car and drive it yourself.

There are obviously more than one or two car wrap programs that promote this kind of business, but you need to be careful not to choose the wrong one. Scam companies can be usually recognized by the type of cars they pretend to offer (no one will give away a Mercedes or a Ferrari), as well as the high registration fee (you should not pay more than $50 to sign up with a car wrap program).

Another thing you can do, in order to make sure that the website you want to work with is serious, is to look for a contact form. If none is found, you have probably ran into a scam.

For more free information and advice, make sure you visit Car Advertising Guide. A whole bunch of people already make a few hundred dollars a month just for driving their car, so why wouldn't you?

    Car Replacement Windows

If you find out that your car window has been broken, you can go to a nearby auto shop and ask if they have a replacement in stock. If you are successful in your search, then you can begin the process of replacing your car window. The first step is to make sure that you have the appropriate tools for the project. You will usually need a wide selection of hand tools, a tarp, a repair manual and a vacuum. The next thing to do is to safely remove the door panel of your car door and once youve found a plastic sheet under the panel, you can slowly peel it. You will probably see the pieces of glass from your old car window, remove those safely using gloves and your vacuum cleaner.

    Putting in the glass

The next step is to fit in the new window through the two-inch wide slot located on the top of the door panel. This step can prove tricky because fitting in the glass may require that you unbolt some bolts on the door panel to provide more space for the fitting of the glass. Your repair manuals will come in very handy in this particular step. The repair manual will also show you the placement of the bracket and clips that were bonded to the glass. The next step is to make sure that the glass is aligned after you replace the bracket bolts and the weather-stripping on the door panel. After this, get the door panel back and align it to the window crank lever and test your new car window.

Doing repairs yourself can prove to be a tricky task, that is why repair manuals and a small amount of experience can come in handy in minor repair jobs such as the replacement of your car window.

Car Tents Or Trailers? Arguments For Both

Some of my fondest memories growing up was car camping. Families can see so much of the world on a decent budget by bringing their camping gear along. It also promotes teamwork among family members (always a good thing to keep up) and a chance to see parts of the countryside that haven't been touched by development.

For those interested in car camping, there's two ways to go about it: you can either purchase a tent that connects to the car, or tow a small trailer along.

    Car Tents

Generally, you can purchase car tents for SUV's vans and station wagons (and any other vehicle with a hatch back). Hypothetically, they could work with any car, and just attach the tent sleeve to the trunk, though it may require some modification on your part.

Once the sleeve is attached to the back of your car, simply tighten the strap until snug, so as to ensure a dry evening. A huge advantage of a car tent is that your vehicle and tent connect, which limits the amount of loading and unloading.

Camper's piece of advice: when setting your tent up, make sure that it faces into the wind. The breeze will force mosquitoes and other little beasties to hide behind the tent (and therefore away from you).

Also, try to hang your tent out to dry before packing up, as this will help reduce mildew from forming. Prior to rolling it up, make sure all windows and doors are unzipped, and roll the tent up towards the door to ensure it rolls up tightly.

    Tent Trailers

If all this seems like too much daily maintenance, consider purchasing a tent trailer. Tent trailers have several advantages over RVs: their smaller size makes them an ideal option for the campers who don't have the time, money or inclination to purchase a motor home, and they are exponentially more gas efficient.

When searching for tent trailers, look for a good sized trailer (sleeps at least four) with a small kitchen. If you can't stand the idea of using public showers and toilets, the higher end ($10,000+) models can accommodate. However, I feel you get more value in the middle price range, as most campgrounds offer showers and toilets. It's really a matter of taste. Check out nadaguides.com to learn about the value of the tent trailer you're considering purchasing.

In conclusion, you can learn more about car tents and coleman tent trailers at our website.

    Car Stereo IPod

Car stereo ipod is a great device to have especially when one is traveling as it proves to be a great companion keeping one wide awake all along. For one to have a great travel, they will need to have an ipod and the transmitter that comes long. One might choose to have the whole ipod kit but it might be a bother and one might not use all accessories that come along with the kit.

At such an instance, one might only need to carry the ipod itself and the car stereo Fm transmitter. Some transmitters come as a package with a charger meaning that is one does not need to have a charger if they use such a two in one transmitter with a charger. In this case, one avoids the hullabaloo of carrying the speakers, cables, ear phones and all other accessories.

With the car stereo ipod, one is left with the option of listening to the music of their choice and one can even sing along as they travel. This makes the journey interesting as it takes away the boredom. One does not have to listen to the FM music as they can listen to what they love on their collection stored in the ipod.

The FM stations also come in handy especially in the wee hours of the night when they need some human companion. One therefore listens to the radio stations through the use of the car stereo FM transmitter. It's always great to buy an entire kit along with an ipod box that keeps the ipod intact as one is driving. A car stereo ipod is a great device that one should invest in though it might be costly.

Car Audio Systems & Car Stereo

The most common and familiar piece of audio equipment is the radio/tape player/CD player/DVD Player which is generically described as a Head unit, which also can be called a head deck. It is also the most likely component to be upgraded with an aftermarket item. A recent development in head unit technology has been the addition of CD players with MP3, Ogg, WMA, AAC, and USB, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support.

Not many people are aware of the fact that a good car audio system performs at its optimal best only when it is matched with the internal and external specifications of the car it is housed in. There is no point in getting a high PMPO, 500 watts car audio system and then housing it in the small (relatively small that is) confine of a Volkswagen beetle. At the same time, there is no use at all in getting a tinny, entry level car audio system and putting it in the spacious interiors of a hummer.

Car Audio amplifiers are used to give extra power to speakers in the system that need more power than what the stereo or head unit can produce. The most common amplifiers are used for subwoofers. Preferences for amplifiers greatly very. Today there are countless brands and prices to choose from. The most common amps are 1 channel (mono-block) or 2, and 4 channels. Some top brands in car audio amplification are: Pioneer, Kicker, MTX, Sundown Audio, RD Audio, Incriminator Audio, Digital Designs(DD), Resonant Engineering(RE Audio)(no longer makes amps), JL Audio, and Rockford Fosgate. Although there are thousands more to choose from.

Amplifiers are classified by how they make the power. There is Class D, Class A, Class A/B, Class B, and many variations on the Class D such as Class X, Class TX, etc. The internal components of an amplifier are generally referred to as "Amp Guts" and by how stout the amp looks on the inside you can get a VERY general idea on the power output.

Muscle Car Series - American Motors Cooperation's AMX

The AMC AMX or "American Motors Experimental" was introduced on Feb. 24, 1968, as a mid 1968 model. It joined the Ford Thunderbird and the Chevrolet Corvette as the only American two seat sports cars. The AMX was based upon a shorten version the four seat AMC Javelin and was produced from 1968 until 1970. After 1970, the two seat AMX was discontinued but the AMX name-plate continued as an option on the Javelin. Both the Javelin and the AMX were among the best handling cars of the era.

Engine choices ranged from a 225 horse powered 290 cubic inch V8 to a 390 cubic inch V8 rated at 315 horsepower. A road test of the 1968 AMX by Car and Driver resulted in a zero to sixty mph time of 6.6 seconds and a quarter mile time of 14.8 seconds at 95 mph. These were very respectable performance numbers.

Culture comforts were not forgotten either. The car was well equipped for the era with reclining bucket seats, carpeting and a faux wood grain interior.

During the three year production run over 19,000 AMX's were produces including 6725 in 1968, 8293 in 1969 and 4116 in 1970. Included in these numbers are some very rare and desirable models, including 52 AMX Super Sports. These cars were basically "legalized" drag racers modified by the Hurst Corporation. The heavily modified engines produce 340 horsepower and we capable of eleven second quarter mile times. Today those cars are both rare and very desirable among collectors. Another collector edition was the "Big Bad" AMX. Less that 1,000 were produced. These AMXs were available with special high impact color themes of orange, blue or green. Today, AMXs with these color themes command a premium in the market place.

The AMX was a bold experiment by the American Motors Corporation. The two seat AMX was never a direct competitor to the Corvette and AMC never clamed it was. However, since it cost significantly less that the Corvette is was a good option for enthusiasts that wanted a two seat performance car on a budget.

Electric Car Conversion Kit - How to Build Your Own EV at Home

Electric car conversion kits are growing in popularity. Many car owners are starting to realize that converting their vehicles to run on electricity can save them a lot of money on gas and help the environment at the same time.

By building your own electric car you will:

    1. Slash your gas costs to zero.
    2. Get massive IRS refunds for driving an environmentally-friendly vehicle.
    3. Start enjoying a smoother, quitter ride.
    4. Stop emitting greenhouse gas and toxic fumes and help save the earth.

To turn a vehicle into an EV, you will need to take out the internal combustion engine and replace it with the electric motor.

Some other parts you need to install are: rechargeable batteries, power controller and power conductors, which can be found in any auto-shop. The best cars to retrofit are light weight vehicles with space for batteries. Even if you have little mechanical skills, you can still turn your car to run on electricity, if you follow a set of detailed plans.

After the conversion you will be able to drive 100 - 200 miles on a single charge and travel at about 55 mph. The technology to run an automobile on electricity has been proven to work, but up until now it was too expensive to use.

Paying a mechanic to turn an existing vehicle into an electric car can cost $3,000-$8,000. Fortunately recently many diy electric car conversion manuals have been introduced to the market, which offer step-by-step instructions on how to easily convert any vehicle to run on electric power and save tons of money on gas. This way the conversion will cost you less than $300(parts included).

Do you want to completely eliminate your gas bill?

Chose the best Electric Car Conversion Kit and build your very own Electric Vehicle!

    Car Tuning

Car tuning can be done as a hobby or it could be your job to modify
peoples cars. A car is modified when the owner would like the handling
and performance improved and modified in other ways so that it fits the
personal style of the driver. When cars are just made, they are just
average cars and are not specially designed to suit a particular person,
tuning a car is now a way in which to personalize your car to your own
    preference.

There are many ways in which your car can be tuned to suit your needs,
it can be sprayed to the color of your choice, unnecessary parts that
look good, such as spoilers, double exhausts, side skirts, bumpers, air
vents, sprayed stencil symbols and designs and many other things.
Engine tuning is also very popular, you can also tune your engine and adjust
things like your RPM, fuel economy and other things that are engine
related. Many people will think that this is all done just to make the car
look good but other than that it sometimes also improves the handling
and comfort of the car. Carstyling will also fall under this category,
as styling cars has much to do with car tuning.

If you think your car has what it takes, you could even enter tuning
events. This is where a bunch of tuned and modifies cars come together
and compare specifications. After all the cars have showed off what they
have, the judges will pick the best one and they will receive a prize.

Some countries even have certain requirements that have to be met when
it comes to the modification of a car and exceeding that limit will be
illegal and the driver will face certain consequences. Most of these
rules are to ensure the safety of the driver and passengers.

    New Car Technology Advancements

Car technology is advancing at amazing speed so it's no surprise that at least a couple cool things turn up each model year. Here are some of the latest innovations that will be coming out sometime in the near future that new car buyers can look forward to seeing.

    Economy Mode

While we consider that most of us drivers are set in their ways and odds are we will never make the necessary changes to conserve on fuel. One example of such would be, we know that by simply not using our AC increases our fuel economy when we drive, but rather than just rolling down our window when we could to save fuel we opt to use the air conditioner to keep us cool. We are simply set in our ways when it comes to running our AC even when we could be just as comfortable at this time with a window down. With the new idea and innovation of the Economy Mode the car it will be able to determine what systems in your car are non-essential at the time and turn them off to save on fuel for the driver; examples could be the AC, Cruise Controls and others. The car would begin making these adjustments for the driver automatically. Its not just an idea in fact; some Hybrids feature an economy mode that limits A/C use on several models right now.

    Black Box Technology

Planes have them and cars will too, and why not the Black box on planes have be literally invaluable for many years with its ability to get detail records of trips and logs of what happens to a plane in flight or when accidents occur. Its still being debated like most things that come to personal privacy and many people will no doubt object to the idea of the black box being implemented into their personal vehicles. The fact is that both Ford and General Motors already are using black Box technology in around two-thirds of the models built, but they are referred to as "recorders". Drivers can expect the advancement of these recorders to be able to tell police officers and insurance companies about car accidents, how fast you were driving, where you had driven that day and much more.

    Cars That Park for You

Yes, a car that actually will do the parking is already in production today. There is already one type of system where the driver keeps his foot on the brake while the car amazingly enough parallel parks its self. Its future looks bright, as this type of application could be very useful in the future not just in parking but also use in other tight places like garages.

Let the Car do the Driving

Its no longer just a dream or something we have seen in the movies, with the advancement of GPS and robotic technology setting your car on Auto Pilot where the navigation system guides the car to its destination while the driver sits back and relaxes will become a reality sooner than many people could imagine. Experimentation and planning is underway with the use of magnets and GPS to make this dream become a reality.

    Crash Detection

Is already a reality with the Acura RL and its called the Collision Mitigation System. Hopefully, one day all cars will include this type of safety feature. Where the cars decides on its own that a wreck is unavoidable and will warn the driver to brace for impacts as it automatically takes action for the driver by deploying the airbags hitting the brakes and tightens up seatbelts etc. all own its own.

The near future is indeed an exciting time.

Many cars are designed with sleek lines and detailed paint jobs, reminis
